If you have a Renntech badge.....

where do you put it on a 213? Next to the model designation? Remove AMG an put on RT? Remove E43 and put on RT?
Thanks for any ideas...

I haven't seen any with the MB emblems removed. Most folks who debadge remove the AMG and E63s on the rear. Some also remove the V8 biturbo on the sides. Another option for you is to get a set of black badges online--pretty easy to find a set on eBay.

Should the badge go with the AMG or the model name on the back?

I have a 2016 CLS63 AMG S. I changed my chrome badges to black, and changed the black V8 on the side to red. I put the "Powered by Renntech" badges on each side under the V8 Biturbo badges. I think it looks great. And for what it's worth, whenever I see a car with all the badges removed I assume its a base model that someone wants people to think is an AMG. But maybe that's just me.....

and many people who do de-badge a real AMG don't care what anybody else thinks what's underneath the hood - just sayin' (based on many posts regarding this topic over the years)

nice cls63
I usually de-badge all of my "Performance" vehicles, because mostly of a sleeper aspect. Take for instance my old 1999 Camaro Z28. I de-badged it. Hell I even removed the dual exhaust tips and had a custom made dual exhaust that merged into a single axle back exhaust with a single tip and large muffler. I wanted the rear to look like a V6 Camaro. The whole system was connected to a LME LSX 376 with twin 62 mm turbos and a 6 speed that made 803 hp and 9xx tq to the tire on pump gas. Did the same thing with my SHO.

When it came to my E63S, the second mod I did was de-badge it as well. My spec came with chrome badges, but my car has the midnight package. So I re-badged the car with gloss black badges, because there is zero way in hell that I could pass my car off a sleeper, esp with catless downpipes.

intentionally making a car a sleeper to elicit startle reaction from those unaware is to seek a reaction, To care about that reaction. Hence what you did with the Camaro and the ford

what am I missing? Do I have this incorrect?

with the 63 is seems it's more about the aesthetics for you

Had to get my car smogged for the first time. Passed fine as it is all stock. The smog shop guy was telling me about someone who came down from LA to see him as another LA guy told him that this shop could get him smogged.

The car passed when he ran the initial check, but when he did the visual inspection he found there no cats, just some pretty sus pipe in their place. He said he kind of suspected something was up give how loud the car was. Told the guy sorry, couldn't pass him given failed visual. Not going to put his business at risk to pass this guys modded car.

I guess now the guy will have to $pend some serious coin to get the cats put back if he plans to continue to operate the car in California. Apparently he bought the car used really cheap and now we know at least one reason why.

Both the Camaro and SHO was smack dab in my street racing days. Both cars were not suspect. Both were extremely quiet (the Camaro had a full exhaust with electronic cut outs when it was time to get rowdy).

Even though the E63 is pretty mundane in the aesthetics part, with the current exhaust even at idle.....badges or no badges it isnt by any means sleeper quiet. So instead of trying to "sleeper it" I embraced the rawness, and made the badges how I wanted. If someone wants to look at the car, read the badges, listen to the car and still wants some....then MF'er we got ourselves an automobile race. I look at it like this. In the street light to street light department, I am like 7/11. I might not be doing business, but I am always open. Fastest to the speed limit right?
