I spoke to them back in May 2023, Ivan does not have any ways in getting the STEK film as he told me Xpel bought out the STEK. I agreed OCG do good work as my 911 was done by them 2 yrs ago.
So, right now, he only uses XPEL Ultimate Plus ... just like the majority of the shops out there and his price has also gone up as well (at least 10%)

Pretty sure I went to them at your recommendation, actually.

That's unusual for sure! Perhaps a part was left off that needs to be installed? Usually VPC stays are in a small number of days. I hope everything is correct.
As far as I know, nothing was left off my build. Specified mirrors painted body color (versus standard black with night package). I'll be pleasantly surprised if this was done. Other than that I expect everything to be to spec.
Worst part about VPC delays is lack of explanation. Leads me to fear the worst like damage being repaired/covered up.

Many years ago, my new car was repainted on the passenger front and rear doors without being informed on delivery. Years past and when i went to trade it in, i was told and shown the paint thickness varied from the driver side doors.

I see, probably done at the preparation centre or the dealership damaged it, the selling dealership didn't do anything about this?

When the Hermes module was omitted at factory build to be installed months later the cars were stuck at the VPC until the buyer signed a release form. It makes no sense that you cannot determine the reason for the delay.

I guess I'm a cynic and skeptic at heart. It seems to me, reading these kind of messages, that this company is doing everything within their power the last few years to make ordering and delivery of cars to the customer as difficult, and frustrating as possible. Good Lord, how difficult would it be to tell your dealer what the reason for delay is? Even if the news is bad you should at least be due an explanation. They act like you're order is for a used Yugo. My confidence in them is beyond shaken. Good luck, I hope you get your car soon and it is in the condition you expect.

My ordering and delivery experience was quite pleasant. My salesperson kept me updated as to every status change in the production and shipment of my wagon. The car actually arrived early and he sent me a photo of him gasing up the car! This is the manner in which every car that I purchased from this dealership has been. The attention and courtesy extends to the service dept as well.

That is certainly how it should be. My experience was very different, but I suppose it can be dealer related. I actually found this website while waiting on my car to be built and trying to get educated on the order and delivery process. The dealership wasn't telling me anything. MBUSA kept telling me to contact the dealer when I complained about the lack of information regarding my order. Having a car sit at the VPC with no explanation is unacceptable, at least to me, and reminiscent of the poor experience I had while while waiting and hearing crickets. I'm glad that your experiences have been good.
Yeah this seems to be common, honestly @HBerman 's experience seems to be the exception lately rather than the rule (I'm glad his experience was that good though!)
I also became aware of this forum after purchasing the vehicle and I had to learn (and even inform others) how to monitor delivery. I got on a first name basis with both sales managers, I "forced" them to send me screenshots. I visited the dealership to push for updates.
My salesman knew nothing at all, he didn't even know what a build sheet was (how is that possible??). I had to use third party tools on the internet to monitor delivery status (but that's extremely limited visibility), and get my initial build sheet (although I subsequently obtained a copy from the sales manager afterward to confirm the internet version was accurate -- it was.)
Getting VPC updates was next to impossible, so instead of having the manager re-word what he read in his system, I had him send me screenshots weekly.
Anyway I could go on but I'm just confirming another case of weak sales service many have experienced over the last few years, and that this is also happening with MB Canada.

The custom order process for computer laptops is very similar to that which Mercedes uses. Once the specifications are accepted, the production and delivery dates are variable based on capacity and supply chain. The dealers work better with inventory or vehicles arriving on deck. It is not uncommon for a custom build in Germany to take almost a year from configuration to receipt. It doesn't surprise me that your salesperson hadn't seen a built sheet (PO) because the ordering process is usually handled by only one or two people in a dealership. My salesperson is the one who places the orders on the dealership here, hence he can dynamically track an order through the phases.
