Well, I'm about to potentially make somebody's day. Waited on this a very long time. In the meantime, I broke down and fell for a Tesla. I realize this is blasphemy around here but the Model S better suits my current use case of primarily running errands around town and bringing kids to sports and school. (If I didn't have two cars to buy and two colleges to pay for in the next couple years, I wouldn't be selling.)
Either it's going to one of you lucky souls or back to dealer. As new condition with 430 miles. I can tell you it's the best one I've had yet (this is my third). No missing options. Everything works perfectly. Transmission is smooth as silk. And the color couldn't be a more elegant shade of dark blue. Pictures don't do it justice.
I follow strict break-in procedures so have yet to drive this hard. Totally babied. No stories.
Not definitive but I put the pieces together (they told me delay due to 'port-installed custom option' so it looks like they didn't paint the mirrors per my order. As you know they come gloss black with the night package. I ordered Night Package but requested mirrors painted Midnight Blue. Been through this with Porsche once before.

Thanks for the compliment. I take great pride in my specs. Mercedes not as fun to build as Porsche, of course, but still love the process. Every decision counts. Cohesive builds only. One wrong decision can ruin a spec.

Went to Local MB Athens Dealership. They have 2023 FE for $7K off its inflated MSRP.
What got my attention was their unsold 2022 new G Wagon ^2....they want $50K ADM. Also they have a GT Black Series with only 4700 miles on Odometer!!!!

You guys lucky enough to daily drive your E63 wagons are quite fortunate. These are some of the best all-around cars in the world. I've driven a lot of fancy cars in my life and this one rates at the very top. Infinitely better than obnoxious and impractical G wagon.
Put the Alpins on with the best OEM wheel option IMHO and this car is an absolute dream Ride is more compliant, still handles exceptionally well, and sticks to the road like glue the colder the outside temperature.

A friend with an extensive collection and lots of track time always said “People have no clue how good they are. I’ve owned everything. It’s 97+% of all of them.”
Well, that was a crazy experience. After offering my car here for MSRP and not getting a fast and easy sale, I invested 5 minutes and attached a few crappy pictures to an AutoTrader ad. $49 ad yielded 3 legit buyers in as many weeks offering my full list price of $170k. (I already had it sold to a friend of mine for a lower price before first offer arrived. Broke at least two hearts.)
A few takeaways.
First, I usually use BaT. A laborious and tedious process. Next car I list for sale will be with AutoTrader, and not BaT. Although, this wagon was a perfect candidate for BaT due to its uniqueness. In the end, I just didn't have the patience.
Second, my price was too low. Bet it could've fetched north of $180k. Must be worth a premium to cookie cutter Final Edition strippers. However, I'm not in car game for the money (it is a true sickness) and just happy it went to a good home.
Last point, I put on another 600 miles dailying this over the last few weeks shuttling my kids around town and Whole Foods runs. This is my third refreshed E63 wagon and only reinforced the awesomeness of this car. Not without its flaws, of course. I will truly miss the tank-like feel, effortless power, handsome looks and overall luxuriousness. A true pleasure to drive. Very grateful. Nailed this build. Perfect colors inside and out.
In the end, the car was literally too nice (and too expensive) for me to daily. Might look for one half the price.
Can't wait to experience W214 if it ever shows up in the US. For now my search for a finely spec'd 2018 begins. Lol
I really like the shine on the paint.And the standard steering wheel.
Shiny is great and much easier to fix if something bad happens but the satin finish won me over the first time I washed it - holy moly is satin easy to clean. And it has to be really, really dirty before it actually looks dirty.
I prefer the standard wheel as well but the upside to the alcantera version is that it will never have that 'wedding ring scratch' that inevitably happens on the left side of all leather wheels.

Getting a car on BaT is super frustrating and a massive chore. And then you have to answer a million ridiculous questions asked by people who are never even going to bid.
For the time and pain involved using BaT, even if I ultimately lose a few bucks on the sale using auto trader, it's the better option.
