Not sure if it's the same part as the one in my C63S, but I don't get a rattle from the latch, and haven't really heard any complaints about this. The only rattle I had from the sunglass holder were from the sunglasses inside of it. It's hard plastic so the metal frames of my sunglasses kept rattling against it at night when I wasn't wearing them. Bought some black adhesive backed felt on Amazon, cut it in shape and lined the sunglass holder with it. No more rattles. It might work for you as well, if you line the area around the latch with felt.
This may not be very helpful because my issue was with a 3D high end audio equipped vehicle, but I had a super annoying rattle in the overhead console. On the 3D cars they remove the sun glass holder and add two speakers and a metal grill. The corners of my speaker grill made a really annoying click/rattle noise over even small bumps. I removed the console, separated the speakers, and added a small strip of double sided tape to the perimeter and the problem was solved.
When the rattle is occurring just push and feel around and see what stops the noise. Then later remove the parts and either lubricate the plastic components, or insulate like I did if it’s just two parts next to each other that don’t move.
Lots of owners have this rattle. If you search the forum for rattle, or sunglass, a few of the threads will pop up. I don't know if any of those owners found a good solution.

Hope this helps.
YOU SOLVED MY RATTLE PROBLEM! I also have a 3D sound car, and the rattle was driving me insane whenever I drove along with no music on. For the longest time the dealer kept telling me its the sun roof.... Thank you.
