Also seems to be missing soft close doors, air balance package, heated rear seats and Burmester 3D. I would never buy this car because of so many missing options. Don't know why MB does this?
It comes with the 810 Burmester Surround Sound System which is the default standard option for all E-Class. It's not the big daddy Burmester 3D Surround with the rotary extending speakers.
It would drive me nuts to NOT have CCB on this car. They’re superior in every way - no dust, improved handling, longer life, great feel, no fade, they look better (subjective). I’ve had both - it’s arguably the most important option on the car to me.

Most options prices are the same as they were in 2018. CCB's $8950 now and then. Same for Carbon Fibre trim; $2850 interior, exterior $2950 (I), $1750 (II) and so on.
$135,995 in 2018 dollars is $166,390 in 2023 dollars based on car price inflation. Using the $170K in the post above for the 2023 final there's a $4K additional MB is tacking on, assuming both are similarly equipped.
Has anyone else noticed the build sheets for the FE showing the adaptive headlights for the wagon but not the sedan? I am thinking it’s an error and it will be added to the sedan.

These math models are silly when you can just compare actual prices
The base 2018 E63s was $105,500, the 2023 E63s is $112,800, a difference of only $7,300. Most options cost the same as they did in 2018. Used the example of the carbon fibre inside out and CCB's and all cost the same as before. The price of the Magno paint actually went down.
So inflation has little effect here...

$40,000 was market adjustment. That $226,000 didn’t include the Final Edition. For reference the 55th anniversary of the SUV, which was similar - floor mats, badge, etc - was ~$48,000 for that.

so when I found car online, it had all those packages, like a lot. (I’ll preface, I’ve built 2 cars from scratch and got lucky with 2 that were built with everything but those cars were never taken possession of so I got them), but I asked how long does it take to build a car now? Bc way back when my first car was 6 weeks! 10 years later, 12 months. I did do the 2020 E63s build, and it was $107,000- ish but maybe like this some of the packages weren’t priced out. There happened to be a 2020 E63s at dealer and carfax showed guy had to service brakes almost every 3 months and he turned it in early. Anyway, MB said 3-4 to build now. Well this car, which I was told was “produced”… I said, I need to know if this car is built. It seemed like they were listing the $125k mrsp and then bc they were still in production any added changes would have driven up costs, but she said $125-$178 was the $40,000 market adjustment and sales tax, delivery etc. Not the packages. Then it was $226k. It was bizarre. But even looking at that, I think it’ll go up more. I get all the packages and they were listed available, not priced, so who knows if they’ll actually include all that. I really don’t like what’s going on with MB. Sketchy.
And totally agree, have always had Mercedes and I really dislike the direction they’re going in. Discontinuing the S coupe. All these new cars like the CLAs and the interiors seem so cheap, comparatively.

There is inflation but it doesn't justify this amount of increase. Same inflation happened to all other brands but none of them, especially E63's #1 competitor BMW M5 doesn't have similar increase. So inflation doesn't justify this.
I'd agree your second part, this is totally due to the greedy of MB and dealers, and I voted with my feet already.

yes, one person at dealership said it’s really a $300,000 car, tried to compare to g wagon and the deposit ($50,000 g wagon deposit, this started at $5000 and two days later was $20,000) but E63s, imo, is a more niche market. Sure some people will pay that price who know, other people with resources could buy it and be sold by the “Final Edition…ooo” initially. But those people who put the $5000 deposit thinking the price of the car they are ordering, and it’s “finished production” will expect ~$125,000, that is blatantly misleading.

yes some people will buy it, but I think if it truly ends up happening this way (I have another post with price from manager, still not final though) I think it’s possible this will backfire - not only possibly car, but dealership too.
what people I think are bringing up is they were told it’s $125,000, only to later hear it’s $178,000 and now I saw $226,000. And the lack of transparency. Last proposed price based on images below. This was manager using marker to cover prices what car includes edit: included VIN but just saw the green over the P.O… it was 143061 (see below) the above he said, “agree to $20,000 and this is what you’ll pay, car is built, and will include the following options.”
Next page Last page This was another dealer nearby who said deposit is $5000, and their market adjustment was $30,000, but was ready to take my cc on phone (I declined) and never mentioned price may change.

So it struck me as odd that the wait I was told would be 3-4 months, then I randomly asked how long in general to build a car (I’ve experienced 6 weeks to 12 months), they said 3-4 months. So I asked to confirm if this car was in fact built, and was given a vague answer, until I asked for manager to confirm and he what he wrote out was unclear/didn’t seem airtight, but written he confirmed it is built to my specifications, production is complete. Perhaps they were waiting on others cars - they really weren’t helpful. But this is what I was just told re: delay I wanted to share bc it seems suspicious? - the entire process was nothing I’ve ever experienced at MB especially, or any similar car I’ve bought. And not being able to get clear answers, I still think anyone who put deposit could potentially see added costs once the car is delivered.
edit to add: don’t judge that I said I’m willing to spend money, I decided one more attempt for an answer. I’m not that new to buying cars

I worked for MBUSA many moons ago and been to the factory that I can assure you is NOT at the port... The MBUSA factory is in Vance AL about 40 miles from Birmingham AL.
The manager appears to be the master Baloney feeder to clients asking for real clarification....
MBUSA does have a VPC where cars get prepped prior to final shipping to dealerships and usually they would put running boards or chrome trims around the door handles... Believe they don't build anything there.

— spoke to sales at Foothill Ranch, originally about the sedan, which he clarified sometimes with fully loaded cars they check all the technology and features that might be new, so that may be delay at Long Beach. But I then asked about this wagon, price upon request and he laughed bc he saw the $7.7 million and while he did say the GM there wanted that car, he’s not even sure bc apparently sometimes an unknown* msrp for MB can initially be listed at that $7.7m. He said the same thing happened with new GLEs before they had msrp, they had the $7.7m but it ended up reducing to about $55,000.

yeah I thought that seemed really out of way. He provided 3 examples, and I had a BMW at one point and it was a new version the technology was definitely not figured out.
so I think the chat guy could have been wrong about Long Beach, but I think it made sense when I spoke to a person when he explained on high end cars like these, especially with new features, and they all seem to be pretty loaded. His consensus was delay is likely a final check, which timing can vary, and that yes they don’t have all the pricing but they expect it upon delivery to respective dealerships. He couldn’t speculate but he was shocked at the $226k!
was nice to speak to someone who seemed to be able to answer questions and not be vague or avoidant etc.
oh edit: they were built in Germany for sure, and you’re correct wherever the cars ultimately arrive in the US they will be checked.
