I know many mercedes salesmen and no one is starving. The dealer that I've been using for over 20 years doesn't charge anything over MSRP regardless of the scarcity of the vehicle and that is their established policy. If they had an FE allocation, that would have left the lot at sticker. My last wagon MSRP was +$146k and I drove off at $138k.

Mine came in today. $168k msrp. Fewer options than my ‘21 (except carbon fiber exterior bits). Going to be a hard sell at $28k over my current one. And that’s without market adjustment and before I have to redo all customizations on it.

I’ve been going to my dealer for 23 years and have spent $2M+ on cars with them. Still going to ask me well over msrp but can’t blame them. It’s a business and they should sell at what the market can handle.

Will find out tomorrow the out the door price but don’t need another right now (‘21 still under 10k miles and set up how I want it). If this ends up over $200K I’m likely going to pass, too many other options.

If I do I can connect someone here with my dealer and it could be yours.

nothing against SUV (sort of... well anyways...) but that is an SUV. Still curious what you like about it though.

It's a Porsche. I have a thing for Porsche. And the Cayenne design has really grown on me over the years. Distinctive. I'm no fan of SUVs either but ironically been daily driving a 2012 full-size Range Rover for the past 14 years.

What do you think of the interior design especially the screen approach of the newest one they showed a few weeks ago?

Prefer Porsche's modest design language over Mercedes. One thing I really hate about the W213 is the vast amount of interior trim and plastics (that should be covered in leather).

Not trying to be controversial or diminish the qualities of the W213, but this is "just" an E-Class. One has to remember that the foundation is a basic $60k E-Class; lots of upgrades throughout doubles the price for a 63 model; well justified IMO. But then the value proposition somewhat ends.
We have been there before with the 4 door GT models. There was a reason why lots of GT63s models were growing old in show rooms. Just overpriced for what they are...

People can spend money on whatever they want but that doesn't translate to value.

...or 'collectibility'. Not one Mercedes sedan/wagon has ever retained MSRP. Not even the legendary 6.3 or 6.9. Or the V12 models. Or anything with the real AMG V8, the M156.

Honestly curious why you would even consider the same car with fewer options.

I see, fair enough, do you think the move of production to Slovakia will change things, already changed things, if any? In the case of MB, moving to Alabama mostly were negative from experience just as a reference point. Not saying it is guaranteed to happen to Porsche, or it might the other way around, even more positive for example.

Agree.

Never was a fan of GT63 4-door. I hate SUVs but have been married almost 27-years and she brainwashed the kids. My Dad brainwashed me with Big V8s...had a Studebaker and Chrysler 300F until he got an advertising gig for BMW and VW. Those BMW 2002 simple print Ads were so iconic. He then switched to '65 then '68 Beetle and later a Dasher Wagon. Local VW Dealer sold him a used Catalina convertible then that Amazing Chrysler Town & Country with 440 V8 and every option during the second Gas Crisis. He later drove me up to the University of Rochester in a Rover 3500s with that Aluminium V8 originally sourced from Buick.

My Badge Delete AMG Wagon Spec cost me a tad over $120K which was alot but at the time seemed like a great performance car value with its Swiss Army Knife utility. Had to reward myself for coming out of retirement to put the Daughter thru MIT when she had a full ride to Georgia Tech. When I drove from Atlanta to NM in 2-days, through a massive storm in Louisiana and East Texas, I realized that the AMG E63s Wagon was the best purchase in my lifetime and the 4Matic+ made all the accidents around me seem like I was watching it on TV while isolated in a Tiger Tank with thick armor plate.

$179K for the 2023 FE Wagon is no longer a Value and $100K ADM is ridiculous but Rick Hendrick recently bought the first Corvette E-Ray for $1.2 million...go figure.

My dream car is that 2020 AMG S63 Coupe but now I want the 2024 AMG GT if not outrageou$ but might settle for the SL55 in about 2-years before Son graduates from GA Tech. Who knows...will let Daughter drive the SL55 in Northern Virginia and maybe she can take over payments with her adequate Microsoft Compensation after 2026?

Nope.

Gave up my '23 FE sedan today, just not it worth over my highly optioned '21.

And I can't believe they didn't include CCB (and painted the calibers black).

I looked at an invoice for my 2023 E63S AMG Wagon Final Edition as it's crossed the Panama canal and the dealership was unable to open DV8 package to see what the $55k includes....very frustrating.

Prediction: Greedy dealers won't be able to sell all Final Editions for over MSRP. Even at MSRP they're overpriced.

I hope this is the case. What a perfect storm of both downtrending economy and unimpressive FE optioning for them to try to gouge customers.

With the steep Final Edition up-charge (for almost nothing), Mercedes is essentially displacing dealers' ADM.

Saw one today (sedan). Doesn’t even have adaptive headlights. Based on pics I thought the wheels were the only thing I liked, but they are super polished compared to the regular forged option and in person I don’t like them, either.

Current owners would be crazy to trade in a good spec for one at even money. In MBNA’s infinite wisdom, it looks like they are dumping them all on the market at once…I have a feeling they will be discounted.

So code 608 is missing? Why on earth? 640 is present, correct?

Didn’t look closely at the window sticker, but it appeared to only have the FE package listed and that’s it. It had standard headlights. Non-adaptive. My car has adaptive so I know what they look like…

The FE press cars had standard LED lights too, seemed odd that they weren't upgraded.

Wow! That's really a miss. I suppose they ran out of multibeam led lights or couldn't supply 999 units. Scraping the bottom of the supply barrel for sure.
