I'm also in CT and dropping my price to $5k for as new set of factory-sized (currently unobtainable) Alpins on OEM wheels both with roughly 500 miles on them. Includes OEM TPSMs and AMG centercaps.

Michelin Alpin PA4’s are still available in OEM sizing. Tire rack doesn't carry them for some reason. Check here yourself:

Nope! 265-30/20 is not the OEM front tire size. That is 265-35/20. No match!

Oh yeah, overlooked that. Well, you could use the 275/30’s on all 4 corners. I was going to replace my 295/30 rears with them anyway. The 295 in this tire look silly on our 10” rear wheels, bulgy balloon tires. The 275’s have an OD of 26.5” and our OEM ODs are 26.3F and 27R.

The OEM MO spec 295’s we run are “faux” 295’s. Meaning, if you look at the tire specs, cross section and tread width, they are actually 285’s.

Also…the Michelin site has a typo somehwere. Not clear if it’s in the tire size or specs, but I suspect its the size because they didnt make a 265/30 before, so why would they suddenly change this? See below, these are 265/35 specs! I’d contact your retailer if you need this size.

At $5k this almost new set is an absolute steal. Best AMG wheel plus best winter tire. Must get these out of my garage. Anyone?

Anthony, I already have an almost identical setup, but the silver version I put together for my old black car (I believe you got yours after seeing mine), but I like yours better for my Selenite Gray Magno car...tempting...

Found my Alloy Wheels Direct invoice from last year.

BTW, I can't recommend them enough.

I know it's subjective, but the pre-refresh standard wheel offering, especially in black/silver, is the most aesthetically please wheel offered on W213. Much more attractive than updated version. German AF.

Mercedes always seems to screw up a bunch of stuff with every single refresh. Heck, I'd argue they mess up as many things as they make better.

Yes, Ian, your wagon can use the added contrast.

I just installed my brand new Pirelli Sottozero 3's 255/35/20 and 295/30/20 today and so far so good.

They are pretty quiet tires to my surprise.....and Pirelli is having a rebate on these tires right now if anyone is planning on buying some new winter tires.

What tire pressure does everyone use for their winters? I have the OEM winter package with 19 inch wheels and the goober who swaps out my wheels and tires put the pressure at 51 for the front and like 49 for the back. After driving it and getting the tires hot, I’m sitting at 55 psi at all four corners. It seems way too high. I looked at the gas door and it recommends 42/44 for a full load or 39/36 if you don’t carry a full load.

I've been running the pressures @bobblehead posted
https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...ml#post8863722

"My dealer told me the front end should be in the 40-42 psi range and the rear would ideally be in the 35-36 psi range."

On OEM 19" winter setup and 265's square:

Cold 37-38 front warmed up 41-42
Cold 34 rear warmed up 36-37 - I may increase this to 38 it feels a bit soft on my butt-o-meter

P.S. I haven't yet pushed the limits on a curve - one day I may adjust depending which way the car slides out

high 40's into 50's psi is dangerously high IMO.

You can do trial & error type of adjustment to your liking but should set slightly higher up front. There may be no consensus in this forum but 40-42 front and mid to high 30's rear can be your starting point

OT:
Just made first cross country trip on DWS06+ All Season Tires. 1500-miles NM-GA. Best Fuel Range to Empty 460-miles. Car fully loaded with luggage, winter gear, Air Mattress/My Pillow/Sheets, OE front wheel and Tire for spare, Tools and Real Jack, and food provisions/cooler for my Solo Wagon Train East. Outside Temps 45F-70F. Noticed steering response with these DWS06+ tires better using S+ than S. Made same trip in 2021 but with stock summer Run Flat tires GA-NM but at recommended break in speeds. MAX Q only 120mph this past weekend. Glad Premium Gasoline prices have dropped for Thanksgiving Holidays!

Usually 45F is the switch point from Summer tire to A/S or winters:

I decided to get the Pilot Alpin PA5's @ 265/40R20 MO1 BSW and 295/35R20 MO1 BSW and using the same rims (I'll worry about another set of rims next year.) I have driven on PA4's before on the E53 but going to try the PA5's on the E63s now. I've heard (subjectively) that it's an improvement

Any thoughts on this fairly straightforward strategy? I wanted to get slightly more sidewall which is why I chose that aspect ratio vs getting PA4's with the same ratios as my summers.

I'm in Southern Ontario (GTA), so not as bad for snow as further north or out west but we still get our winters.
hows this setup been going? any rubbing on the taller tires?

thanks

Definitely not, thankfully. Check out the pics from this post. More than enough room.

I'm selling my OEM full size set up if anyone in Ontario Canada is interested. I'm in Burlington and the set is advertised in the market place.

Some feed back.

High of -2 on Saturday. Winter tires that are snow/ice.

No issues on iced over roads. Lots of folks going with hazards on (mostly All season tires folks) parts of highway. Even SUV were going slow.

My E63S was not wobbly or sliding anywhere. Now on acceleration it was a bit loose but nothing a throttle adjustment did not rectify.
