it's your time and money - do as you see fit - but other people are getting 100% coverage from fidelity for this or more extensive repairs (like the OVS as well) - see links above, may be worth calling fidelity or your warranty sales associate directly; as @Highline-Autos said above - Fidelity should have covered the whole thing minus the deductible
Absolutely! Going to have to call them.
I had to take the car in AGAIN today for some wierd cooing noise (seems to be electrical), lets see what the mechanic has to say again..
Took the car in today because of a weird cooing/howling like noise and now the mechanic says there is issue with the OVS. Such BS, on 2/28 they said the car passed the Vaccum test. Here's what the cost is going to be. Calling fidelity, but should I just take it to MB at this point ? Looks like I have been sincerly shafted by these guys..

i'm not sure if you've been shafted by these guys or if they're just unaware as this is not an issue that most independents would be aware of, some Mercedes dealerships are probably not instinctively aware of this issue probably, but for their internal bulletins that make them aware of this. Your independent mechanic may not have access and likely does not have access to these bulletins.
That being said the big issue is who's gonna cover the repair, a good independent mechanic should be able to replace your oil vapor separators but the big question is will Fidelity cover this essentially $5000 bill? We discussed this above see the link below in your thread about how the oil vapor separator should've been replaced at the same time, but they just didn't know to do so.
The shop always knew Fidelity would cover the cost. They wanted to see if they could get money from you in addition to payment (in full) from Fidelity. In other words bilking the system.

They sure did. Got away with 1K when they replaced the RMS seal and the housing and said fidelity will cover only 50%. Smh..

I miss living in a state where labor isn't taxed! That really is how it should be nationwide. I'm not being political, just crying about money and glad the he doesn't have to pay extra.
When my RMS failed, the SA at the dealership (which did the work on extended warranty) said that replacing the seal in this engine without replacing the oil separators is malpractice.

I am really enticed by the new AMG CLE Cabriolet or the E53 Sedan..
But after reading about these RMS fails and convertible roof cabling issues, I am really hesitant
to get another MB. Their quality issues and reliability have really taken a hit since I purchased my wife's E400 Coupe in 2018.
WTF?

Mercedes is junk.
The M276 3.0TTV6 engine in your wife's 2018 E400 coupe is the most reliable MB engine in the past 20 years. All MB 4-bangers and V8s, and all non-M276 V6 engines are junk. The M256 inline 6 has some issues but hasn't earned the dunce cap yet as the other engines have done.

bruh i got 120k miles on my c63s coupe with 700 to the wheel since 30k miles. I had bad ignition coils and bad purge valve. But nothing else
My 2018 just rolled over 40k - I'm scared to pull the belly pan off at next oil change

good luck bro, just had my s63 repaired too. Drives ok but I feel slight vibrations at idle.
