W213 E63s MPG

Hi guys I just picked up the 2020 e63s a week ago. In city driving, normally 4-5 mile one way and avg speed is about 18-20 mph, always drive gently and comfort mode all time. I always get mpg for 8-10 mpg and have no idea if this is normal... I owned several BMW m models before the e63s and both m5 comp and m8 comp were getting 15-15.5 mpg with the same driving conditions... g80 m3 comp got around 17-18mpg so totally frustrated about the e63s mpg... I don't know if this is me or if anyone else gets the same mpg.
Pretty sure the car has never been tuned and was under 28k miles when picked up.

Seems very low. I get about 16-17 mpg around town and low-mid 20's on the highway. But I've never driven 18-20 mph average so maybe the engine is very much less efficient at those speeds. Around town for me is 40 mph. But I've never gotten less than 200 miles on a tank, which is what you're describing. I don't think I've ever seen less than 250 miles when the reserve light comes on.

For 6 yrs of ownership, I got around 12-13 mpg in non-winter time driving. In winter, probably around 11 mpg. These figures are for 90%+ city driving.

If you are worried about the numbers at the gas pump you are 100% in the wrong car.

600hp and MPG should not be a thing.

I get 20ish Mpg with my 18 but I do mostly highway miles.

In the city, i get about 11ish-14ish.

best way is just to fill up the tank, drive as you normally drive, and count the miles since last fill up and calculate mpg manually. Slow driving includes the engine running in traffic while the car isn't moving as well and it's a 4500lb car plus driver.

are you curious about mpg or is this a significant feature of a car when you buy one?

I think OP is just concern if that kind of low gas mileage is an indicative to something wrong (mechanically wise) with the car perhaps. Maybe take a look at the frequency of oil changes, current condition of the air intake filters and spark plugs.

not at all. I also own a amg gtr which has lower mpg in city driving and made me curious how the heck m177ls2 has such low efficiency
