Normal.
I have same setup and I personally love the look of a square sidewall.
Its a newer tire, its not gonna look the same as a 4s.

Thanks for the response. If yours look the same then I'm ok with it. The nomenclature is so confusing I just wanted to make sure the tires matched up correctly.

I have MO 4s on a 2021, same wheels.
When I looked at your pics, I had to go look at mine. What’s interesting is the ‘lip’ on the rears is larger than the fronts on mine. Never noticed it before.
Looks like the lip is smaller on the 5s, but photos are always a little weird.
Happy to add pics if necessary. Yours look great!

That would be helpful. I'm interested to see the difference. I'm still in my 60 day return window. I don't know if the variance will affect handling or is it just a visual thing.

First two are rears, the fronts.
Maybe it’s just the angle. Can measure lip if needed.

Definitely different! The side profiles on the 4S match. Mine do not and it's bothering me. My OCD is taking over......... Lol

Similar angle but mine is the left rear wheel, yours is the right rear. It's driving me crazy because the front don't match the rears.

That 4S has rim protection; the S5 does not:

My dealer told me when asking about the tire was to make sure to get the Mercedes version because it has rim protection whereas the generic retail version does not.

That's the extent of my research into it :-)

My front and rears look like your rears. There's a lip but it's not so deep.

Just reposting superswiss response from the other thread about this, incase anyone missed it. The answer makes sense to me why the fitment is different in the rear despite MO1.

I saw that too and makes sense. Still able to pull >1G during cornering though. Would it affect handling at all? Opinions appreciated.

Did any of you run into issues with your local dealer trying to find these in their "system?"

My local dealer is having issues getting these ordered.

Do I just have to convince them to install a CLE53 tire onto my wagon? Not sure they will...and a few other tire shops in town have been hesitant to attempt to mount tires onto my particular (OEM) wheels.

Not sure about dealer, all I know for sure is they come up on tire rack if do a search for our cars, probably because they tick all the right boxes in terms of size, rating. That makes me think it would be fine but I am no expert. I still have a brand new set of 4S to burn through so I have not attempted myself yet.

They are OEM size. There is no issue with them being used on a CLE53 first. My MB dealer has sold many sets for E63s. TireRack shows them as OEM size for the car, which is where I got them last summer. They have been a great improvement over the PS4s, in every way.

I convinced them to just do it, as the size is a direct fit. They are shuttling up a set from Miami and putting them on today, knock on wood.

As soon as I handed my keys over I remembered that I should have torched the rears on drift mode...maybe I'll remember beforehand next time.

I don't know complete history of previous owners tire buying decisions but I had 4 PS4S but 2 were from 2021 while the others 2022.
Only passengers rear was showing cord. Other three had somewhat normal wear.

We will see how these new PS5 hold up now.

@cyclerider , you say your alignment specs were way out of whack. Just curious about how yours looked like in comparison to @superlative . I ask as someone who is super sceptical about the need for frequent alignments. The Toyota dealer tried to sell my wife an aligment on her 9 month old car. They used a drive through alignment checker. I told them to send me the report so I could check it, and everything was well within specs, so I told them where to put that recommendation. I'm sure you looked at the report.

yeah, I definitely laid some pretty heavy black stripes a few places on my way to getting my tires changed. 😎

Drift mode is excellent for converting tires into smoke.

2019 E63S Wagon
Reviving this thread from the dead, I just tried to install these tires in the correct size on my 2019 E63 Wagon and ran into major issues. They couldn't inflate one of the rears because gap on the bead is too wide?? I chalked that up to a defect and actually ordered a new one from tire rack, was planning to return the "bad" one. As I'm getting ready to receive the car, the SA comes to me and says that the car actually has to stay overnight because the new front tires are so much wider than the old PS4S's that they are rubbing immensely. I have no idea what's going on here, my wagon is stock, never lowered etc. Did anyone run into any fitment issues at all? I had to take a loaner for what was used to be an in and out 4 tire swap and alignment. Wondering if this is a fit issue or the dealership is somehow not able to mount these tires

Mine's a sedan but I'm on my second set. They fit perfectly. Are they the MO1 variant?

Yeah they are 100% MO1, I triple checked when ordering also before I hauled them to the dealer. These are the ones I got

Wow unreal, the tech somehow didn't realize that the wheels were staggered and was trying to mount THE REARS ON THE FRONT. I'm honestly stunned; this was my first thought when they said there were severe clearance issues in the front, but they were closing when this was discovered. I can't believe that a dealership would mess this up, I mean the numbers are not only on the side of the tires, but these were brand new tires with the details on the stickers. Is there a single non staggered mercedes setup out there? Even the C300 is staggered from what I can recall

Insane, hoping you're back on the road...assuming this was at an indy shop?

FWIW my PSS5s are rolling along with now issues. I really like them, not sure if they are that much better than my previous old PS4s or that they just aren't worn to the chord like my old PS4s .
