Catch can on 9k mile M177

Here's a very thorough video by Fluid MotorUnion out of Naperville Illinois explaining some issues someone had with their M177.ls1 on a 9k mile Aston Martin Vantage and installing the 63 Motorsports oil catch can. 63Motorsports commented that the kit they sent him was for a m177.ls2 catch can kit, while the engine in the Aston is a m177.ls1 which they are working on developing a variant for.

Is he making a point of grabbing oil before it hits separators ? I did my RMS along with new PCV last year, now I’m debating if I should go to this route

Yes. I have a new RMS and updated OVS and put the catch cans on as well.

Coming from the highest mileage W213 in North America 160,327 miles...

No catch cans. Never saw a need for one.

You, a sole person at that mileage = (lucky streak/unicorn) vs, the countless people that have documented their misfortunes here and this is one of the deadest forums on the internet... It's pretty clear as day that a catch can is better than not on a documented catastrophic failure point.

doubtful and i will tell you why.

Every single car regardless of manufacture, i have gotten above 200,000+ miles.

So I am the luckiest person alive with a unicorn car from every manufacture...

OR, driving the cars helps in prevents RMS. PCV issues.

BUT what do I know!
