Installed clear front side markers on 12 CLS63.
Thanks to FlyC63 for trying the S63 clears and verifying they fit perfectly. I got them off ebay w/ the stealth bulbs from seller http://myworld.ebay.com/nikki-7002/&...84.m1439.l2754
Slightly annoying install until I figured out you can sneak a hand behind the wheel well liner w/ the wheels turned full opposite lock.

Looks very nice! On my C63 I tried to keep everything stock so I covered the orange reflector with a color matched vinyl wrap--if I get a ticket, easy to remove. I however really like the clear markers as it appears to pass the police sniff test and looks very sharp with the stealth bulbs.
Is this the part you ordered from ebay '2010-11 S CLASS W221 S550 SIDE MARKER PARK LIGHTS CLEAR'--how much did you pay if you wouldn't mind posting/PMing?
If you wouldn't mind a quick go-by as well that would be great! I removed my C63 side markers without much ado-- all accessed from the engine compartment... accessing from the wheel well is not an approach I'm familiar with.

I had a C63 that I did clears too as well, it was easier since as you said it's accessed through the engine bay.
I used the Macarbon plastic flat tool (can use any flat plastic piece to wedge in between) to pop out the OEM corners from the upper back corner and swapped out the bulbs, then I stuck my hand through the hole to push the fabric wheel well liner out so I could stick my other hand through the wheel well to hold the inner black plastic piece in place while I snapped the new clear corner into it. The S550/63 clears are a perfect fit.
I just swapped out to clear corner LEDs on my R8 which was a lot harder as I had to jack the car and take off wheels, and undo torx bolts to get around the plastic liner, the benz is much easier as it's more flexible liner (and there aren't bolts you can unscrew anyhow).

Looks good on the white. I personally like the paint matched ones better if its not on a white car though.
I still hate the orange lighting at night so I tucked the bulbs away in the bumper. I get no orange during the day or night- no different than the euro models.

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
I had mentioned this in another thread as well.
Specificlly, white colored cars.
Every other color will look better color matched.
Great job to OP. Looks good.

Thanks for comments guys. I agree it may not work on a darker color. Anyway, nice to pop the modding cherry on this car w/ a DIY cheap easy install. Next week she goes in for a bit more work.

I also purchased the clear side markers from Ebay and they are a perfect fit. I just installed them on my car and have a few things I would like to add.
First, The easiest way to remove the stock side markers is to sit in front of one, then slip your hand behind the wheel liner (it is easy to displace). Next, snake your hand behind the marker and feel for a projection. This is a retaining clip.....just push it outward (towards your face) and the side marker will release from the assembly .........no tools are needed. From there, just twist the bulb to remove it from the stock amber marker.
Regarding the bulbs that are provided with the clear markers: They are amber in color and only come on when the headlights are on. They do no light when the daylight running lights are on. I actually like the look of the clear lenses and will not paint them. I am also going to go with a white LED light to match the rest of the lighting. I picked up some 194 LED bulbs at autozone. Do not make that mistake because you will get a fault code. After a little research, I think I found the answer.........these fault free LEDs. The should look great.

Do not use the above light. Too bright for a side marker.

I bought a set of depo smoke/clear LED sidemarkers with yellow LED lights and installed them today. Fit well and the LED's look great when off and when on.
