Tire Rub with H&R on W210
I have just replaced 235X40X18 and 265X35X18 Euro fitment with 245X40X18 and 275X35X18 US fitment tyres.
Suspension is H&R springs with stock AMG Bilstein shocks and No. 1 spring pads all round.
Front tyres are now rubbing over speed humps and sharp bumps, but not whilst turning. Is this normal for my setup?
I have noticed that drivers side ride height is 1/4 inch lower than passenger side. I have done aprox 300miles on new setup. I may need to change spring pads to 2 or 3 on front to raise ride height a little as you can only just fit one finger between front tyre and guard, which looks great and I'd be sad to have to give it up!
Help please, I am considering putting the standard Euro AMG springs back in.....

Not rubbing while turning is a good thing. It sounds like you're "bottoming out" meaning that the top of the tire is hitting the inside of the well upon compression. There's two options (1) cut the bump stops on the front shocks in half to give it more travel and (2) roll the fenders more. I'd do (1) and (2) first to keep that one finger height before raising the car back up to solve the prob. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, but E55 already has rolled guards, there is nothing left to roll, cutting bump stops would only make the problem worse. Stiffer shocks would help though.

Awsome car stephens!
Actually I tell a lie, I bought the Volvo six years ago when we were having financial problems and used it to tow my race bike. Not a very cool look to turn up to MC GP's in a Volvo. Anyway lost the key a couple of years ago and it hasn't moved since. I can't even GIVE the thing away.
JamE55, I've seen a lot of posts by you, but never a pic of your car, what's the story?
