Tire Rack Help! W211 E55 20s
I just purchased some Iforged 20s for a 2004 E55. The dimensions are as follows: 20x8.5 +32 offset 2" front lip
20x10 +35 offset 3" rear lip
pcd 5x112
What is the best size tire for the money. I dont need total sport and do a bigger side wall if needed. Looking for a good comfortable tire and size combination. I have the 18s for the track if need be.

Emoving before you pull the trigger on tire do some research!! 275/30 is to big if you are go to lower it... If you chech tire rack a normal 275/30 has a overall dia of around 26.5 and a 285/25 is about 25.5 . If you check around 25.5 is about the working or stock dia of a e55 its a plus 2.. The 275 30 is the working size of cl/s class.. If you want to lower the car with a 275/30 it will rub bad. Correct size is 285/25

depends on the weather
20's on a w211 E55 are not the best of ideas. While many people do run them there are some issues you should be aware of
here's the specs of the OE set up
tire diameter 25.7"
minimum tire load capacity 1433 lbs.
now let's look at the size suggested for you 20's (245/35-20 & 275/30-20)
diameter = 26.8"
load capacity = 1356 lbs.
there are extra load tires in those sizes which have a higher capacity that does meet the requirement for the car.
the proper size for this set up would be 245/30-20 and 275/25-20 which do not meet the minimum load capacity

I think I jumped the gun on these 20s. I had DPE 19s on my last E55 and loved them. I am thinking I should have gone with 19s again. I may have to flip the 20s.
Oh and I did buy a Renntech ELM to lower the car. So the car will be lowered.

Take your own advise and read his post.. His car is lowered so it would be great to have the comfort of a 30 side wall but with a lowered car it wont work it will be rubbing everywhere. And ive had 285/25 for 3 years now you can hardly feel any diffrence between a 275/30 and a 285 25 There both a stiff ride

No his car is NOT lowered, he says he intends to lower it.
When I posted my comment he had not even mentioned buying an ELM and all he stated was he wanted more sidewall and more comfort. Im not Nostradmus and had no way to predict he would be buying an ELM
