Is you car lowered? As long as your car lowered moderately and not slammed, you should be OK. If your car is not lowered at all, you will be fine. Keep in mind that your speedometer will be off due to larger diameter.

285/40-18 may fit in the rear

255/45-18 will NOT fit front for sure

If you want to use "taller" than stock 18" tires,

then use 245/45-18 front and 275/40-18 rear.

2854018 is fine on the rear. Put it on and its all good to go. Pretty awesome as well.

Haven't done anything with the front yet...

I like the taller tire in the rear...but I think I'll stick with stock up front to keep the look right. If I do anything otherwise, I'll get a fit done; and let you all know what's up.

1" taller rear tire (.5" taller sidewall) than front will give you "the right look" on SL? This is not a "dragster".

Also, car will not handle "right". Due to different sidewall hights, tires will not be in sync especially when turning at speeds.

Just my .02 cents.

I know not everyone is going to like it; but I used my $0.02 to buy 40s. I like it way better than swapping out wheels and tires all the way around. But that is just my style.

And this car isn't a dragster or a track car. Now this post is up to $0.06. lol

I agreed with your sidewall deflection comments and what will be even more troublesome is the different rotational speeds which will causing ABS and traction control issues
