Aftermarket tires

Hey, check it out, I am a huge tire freak. After all, that IS the only part of the car that actually touches the ground. So, my question is, for those of you who have put some decent tires on the car, A.K.A., S-03's, BFG G-force, or Toyo Proxes, let me know your take on noticable differences. For referance, on my S2000 I have BFG G-force KDW-2's, best tires EVER

Heeeeeey, another Sac-town homie on the board!

My '03 E500 still has the original, indecent, Contis (a/k/a "Crapinentals") on it, but I've followed several threads about tire alternatives in recent months. You might try searching under the brand names of tires you are interested in.

'03 E500, Desert Silver/Stone : Wussiest W211 in the Land Park area. Possibly the only one.

i can offer this advice, about toyo's. on a previous car, these tires had extremely weak sidewalls. either they tended to split after hitting some not so big pot holes or bent rims resulted. in my particular car i had the splitting problem and ended up replacing all the tires within 15,000 miles. many other friends with the same proxies had the same problem with one experiencing bent rim after bent rim.

i later switched to yokohama avs sport and if you can find a size to fit, IMO, these are the best tires ever. same rims, same car, never a sidewall problem or a bent rim. go figure. personally, i even participated in two track days with the avs sports and they still lasted over 25,000 miles.

i have also driven cars fitted with falken azenis (spelling?). these were track tires with DOT approval to be used on the street as well. no question these were the ultimate in tires, but not well suited to street use. they have a higher optimal temp range and also last under 10,000 miles.

Depends on what you are looking for really. Best performance, S-O3's, but very poor tread life. Great tread life Khumo, Yoko's. Yokos are good but loud. If you don't mind changing them often, than S-03's are the way to go.

Michelin just released a new Pilot tire, modeled after the F1 tire, the test results seem to show it edges out the S03:

These are what I have on my S2000, much, much better than S-03's, and still way better than even the S-02's. Plus they look much cooler.

Rims / Tire help

Ok, so I need to replace the two Mille's I have up front and the problem is that no one in the US carries this model any longer in the the size I need. Therefore I called Mille and it is going to cost as much for the two rims as it will for shipping. So, I have been looking at a set of ADR M-Sport, but I don't know much about them. Anyone have any info? Also, the tires would be Sumitomo HTRZII, anyone have feed back on those? The Rims are 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 10. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Let me rephrase my last, can ANYONE answer my question.

How about a set of tires for 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 RIMS? Quiet riding, great handling. Can ANYONE answer that?
