Just purchased this 2005 w211 yesterday and was curious if I’ll run into any problem running this size
verses the stock

Not sure what the purpose would be for running a higher profile of an already fairly high profile tire. Per https://tiresize.com/calculator/ the 60 aspect ratio tire will be just under 1" larger in diameter, so it's not that much different. Speed would read about 3.5% lower than actual (60 mph indicated with actual 62.1 mph speed). What are you hoping to gain? It's already a pretty cushy tire.

I was given a new set of perellis by a friend and the ones that are on there are made by Douglas tires which are fairly worn And my concern was the clearence factor to the side walls.

I think you'd probably be okay. 225/55-16 is the standard size. 225/60/16 will give you about a half inch higher ride height, no big deal, and 1/2" larger radius all around, which I would hope your car would have the clearance for. Speedometer error is probably within what many cars are new. Free new Pirellis vs worn Douglas? I'd give them a try.

I love the color! Most people dislike that gold/sand/beige type color but it's one of my favorites! Tell me, how does the car ride with those tall tires? I'm looking for the softest ride possible with 16" wheels on my W211 and I'm wondering if going to a 60 series sidewall would help.
