Mercedes Benz tires - what now?

Pseudo run-flats it would appear.

So that leaves me wondering, at the same market price as non run-flat tires, would I want a tire with a harder sidewall than a normal tire? I guess I understand and quite like the motive, just not sure if it's enough to stop me from going from my, mutually agreed upon awful run-flats, to normal tires with workarounds to deal with flats.

I'm not aware of any tire with Mercedes Benz embossed on the sidewall, but tire manufacturers do assign "MO" to Mercedes original equipment tires, such as Pirelli's P Zero PZ4. Not sure this has any meaning except to those who know nothing about tires and expect MB dealers will always mount the best tire available on its vehicles, and who believe OE spec is always tops. The PZ4 is btw, one of the most expensive and poorest performing tires (receiving bad reviews) you can buy (it was OE on my G550). If you need new tires, go to one of the national tire shops where tires are their business and tell them what you want from a new set of tires.

Found the tire search, nothing interesting in there aside from a competitive price on Pirellii PZ4 and Michelin PS3 run-flats. The Michelin price is good on the exact product code when compared to 1010 tires, probably about the same as what you'd get if you ignore the MOE stamp.

Not MB manufacturer tires.
OEM tires made by others and labeled MO like stated above.
Some info here as every manufacturer does it - Special tires "designed" for OEM - since they buy the most tires.
