C238 rear suspension rattle/klonk over curbs etc - but now highway
I have a C238 where I just noticed- sounds from the rear suspension rattle/klonk over curbs etc - but now highway - I had car on lift but not floating wheels - could not recreate klonk. Need to have wheels floating to see. Meantime any bright ideas?

@W205C43PFL Thanks for your tip - the car was finally "admitted" to Van Mossel Cph (MB Authorised dealer) and they dismantled part of the rear end, as all bushings, links and bearings were fine. Turned out, after taking shocks out, they were the culprit. Unfortunately, the reason I/they could not determine if noise came from right or left side, was it was both shocks 
. Possible cause: The previous owner may have used the trailer coupling a lot... Both shocks are up for replacement today by MB

@W205C43PFL hahaha, I absolutely agree with you - trailer on a coupé... but hey, I bought second hand... so I got the coupling for free (or the price of two new shocks
) Milage is 149,000 km - an expert told me the shocks will only be worn at that milage if also used for trailer

Don’t have the shocks as already picked up the car from MB. Car is presently on winter rims and tires. Brand new 20” summer rims and tire will go on when frost and salty roads end mid April
