Feeler on 20" BBS LMs
see https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-ti...s-lm-mint.html
I replaced the rear tires with new Nitto INVO 255/30/20s to get a proper fitment, so they are fresh (add $500). The fronts are still the same Nitto Neo Gen 245/30/20s, about 7 of 10 thirty-seconds tread life left.
Sure enough as soon as I get them on my S55 a set of the two-piece AMG wheels that I prefer come up on a deal to good to pass. So I am thinking of selling the LMs.
They are still in as good as shape (or better if you count the cleaning and polishing I gave them and the new rear tires) as shown in the previous post. No bends, cracks, or repairs ever, straight and true. The tire shop even mentioned how they were about the best balanced wheels they had seen in a long time.
As before, I also have a set of 16mm hubcentric spacers for Mercedes with lugs. I believe penguins4 used these on the front of his E55?
In addition, they came to me with a set of hubcentric centers for Audi S4 fitment and a full set of lugs for an Audi as well. I have of course gone back to the Mercedes centers so both come with the wheel set. The four center caps are the CF black BBS, he only ever sent me two of the red ones.
I paid $3500 plus shipping for his set and then added the new rear tires (total in $4200). I'll take the first $3500 plus shipping with the new rear tires! I'm not interested in low ball offers, if you want them for the $3500 plus shipping let me know.
If no interest I'll go to the wider Mercedes / Audi / BMW crowd via eBay as these can fit just about any hubcentric car but I wanted to offer it to the Mercedes forum first.

Tried to buy the brembo's off this guy for my buddy. E-mailed him and gave him my cell, he e-mailed me back a few times and said he was taking the parts off the following week, and that I could have them. I told him I would be in NC the following week on vacation and would come to pay cash and pick them up....but no response after that!!!! Seems a bit shady to me personally..no pics and no one to vouch for him!

As far as tires, next choice would be a 275/25/20 or 285/25/20. Either will give a rolling diameter compatible with the 245/30/20 fronts. If someone wants the set without the rear tries I'll do $3200 plus shipping. Thats the four wheels, front tires and spacers along with center caps and lugs for wheels with or without spacers.
The problem with going much lower is that frankl;y the fronts aren't worth much used. When I bought this set from penguins4 he had the same 245/30/20 Nitto Neo Gens on all four and I changed out to the 255/30/20 ont he rears. I sold off the rear two but only got about $100 for them once you take shipping into account.
So I guess I could go a hundered less for the set without any tires but why would you want to do that since you'll just have to turn around and replace all four? It will cost you a lot more than $100 for two new fronts plus mounting and balancing. As far as shipping, with or without tires won't make much difference as they have to go in the same boxes either way. Most shippers charge mostly based on distance with weight being secondary.
I can see someone wanting to go to 275/25 or 285/25 in the rear but the 245/30s in the front make sense. Even if you don't like the Nittos. you can run them until they wear out and then replace them?
BTW, at $3500 these rims with no tires would be a steal! The rims new are ~$1600 each from the cheapest source you can find. I guess I just don't understand why people are trying to haggle over a $100 on tires for $6000 rims?
So bottom line, $3500 plus shipping for everything, $3200 plus shipping minus rear tires and $3100 plus shipping with no tires. That's the best I am willing to do and if by the end of this week I don't jhave any takers I'll move on to eBay and let the Audi / VW crowd in on these as well.

So let's get something straight. You need spacers + hubcentric rings for E55 fitment?
So you can bolt these up as they sit to any hubcentric Mercedes without spacers or any other parts pieces. Doing so gives you a 38mm front offset and 36mm rear offset, as is the case on my 04 S55.
SPACERS are used as an insert between the wheel center and the hub of the car to INCREASE the distance the the wheel center is from the hub thereby DECREASING offset on any positive offset wheels (all Mercedes fitments). Any hubcentric Mercedes (all of our cars) need hubcentric spacer if you want to use a spacer. The two that I am including with the wheels are 16mm thick and penguins4 used them on his E55 front wheels. This gives a net offset of 22mm (38mm - 16mm).
I don't know what the offset on a stock E55 was from the factory? My S55 was 44mm front and back. I have no problem at all using the NO SPACER offsets of 38 front and 36 back. penguins4 had no problem running the spacers for a 22mm front offset and the 36mm offset in the rear without spacers on his E55, so yes, what I am selling will bolt right up to an E55. (BTW, when you use spacers you also need correspondingly longer wheels bolts which also are included with the setup I am selling)
Hope that answers your questions? You might want to go to the tire rack site and search on offset if you are still confused. They have an excellent write up there.
Keep in mind again that all Mercedes use positive offset, meaning the point where the center meets the outer drum is "off set" from the center of the drum toward the outside of the car. There is more drum on the inner part of the wheel you don't see than on the side you do see. Spacers move the wheel out from the car effectivley reducing this offset back toward zero. You can always adjust positive offset DOWNWARD with spacers but nothing you can do (other than machining the existing wheel hub, scary!!!!) will INCREASE positive offset.
Am I making you crazy yet?

I'm pretty sure OEM 18s for W211s have 30mm front offset and 39mm rear offset. E55 owners will probably need spacers for the front.
If rear stock offset is 39 then 36 shouldn't even be a detectible difference (~1/10 of an inch change).Clearly the stock fitment on front would require a set of 8mm spacers. I think penguins4 just liked that really aggressive "pushed out" look. Again, that's only about 1/3 inch off stock with a 16mm spacer.
