Backup camera installations
hi, all:
I just got my 2012 GLK 350. It doesn't have the backup camera neither the navigation system, but it does have the standard 5' LCD. I am thinking to install a backup camera. Does anyone have recommendations on what I should buy? I was looking at the NAV TV interface which itself costs whopping 700 bucks.
And does anyone in Seattle area know a good shop to install that? The MB recommended shop asks for $1800!!!

There is a couple of threads about this but after all the hassle and what you really get I still prefer the OEM setup. You should not have cheaped out in paying an extra $3000 if you really want the backup camera (I know that is a lot of burgers and pop). You just bought a high-priced toy that is close to $40,000 and $3000 should not be a issue on your part.

The camera is only a small part of the $2,600 package in the case of the 2012 GLK which comes with a single DVD/CD player. Yes, it has already paid for itself by protecting far more expensive body work. I wish there were a front camera as well. It's not easy judging where the GLK stops in front.

that's dumb if you cannot get parktronic with lighting package in the US of A or is it because that is the only thing available on your area on that time?

all, thanks for the replies. I already got the car, so I have to look for aftermarket solutions. Anyone has any recommendations for the standard LCD (no navigation)?
