Jon Vs Propain: The Saga Continues
With all the talk about Jon's car vs Mthis (Hagi's) car I figured it would be fun to run Jon and see if he was as close as he was against the C63 with full mods.
These were the results. Weather was a warm 75 degrees. Draw your own conclusions. Enjoy.

Headers + Tune + LW Mods vs Z06. The C63 pulls much harder with those mods and it took much more to overtake it.

Definately 2 different animals. Just by the butt meter alone the Z06 is way faster than my C63. What are C63's putting down with Headers + Tune + LW Mods

This was 2nd gear at 45 mph.
450-470 whp.
LW mods were Carbon Fiber Hood, Carbon Fiber trunk lid and lighter rims.
This is the graph from my Z06 dyno.
Either way, this compare was due to another compare between the car I just raced and the modded C63.

I just got the Z06 so I am still running street tires. 1st gear at 40 mph is what? 4600 rpm? When I get on drags I will be able to grab much better. I tried a few times and did nothing but spun when in 1st.

Yes. No mods. I did some work on the short block to prep for my future mods and address some weak points with the LS7 valve train. Just getting the motor balanced added about 10 more whp. Otherwise no mods. No bolt ons or intake and no tune.
Stock the Z06 puts down about 455-465 on the dyno. Everything is OEM. Just built a bit better than GM could.

just watch out for the transmission when you are tracking it. The transmission on the Z06 really sucks

Nice runs. The Z06 was once on my radar along with the C63. At least Jon is a good sport to run with you with all the grief you give him on the board here.

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
Zo6....LS7, dry sump, 375KW (505HP)? right?!!...That engine was used by our local Holden "factory hot up" company "HSV" (Holden Special Vehicles), in a Commodore a few years back, when they built the "W427"...only made about 140 of them, at a cost of around $170K.
Lots of engineering had to be done, the major issue was plumbing the dry sump.
I've driven one...MASSIVE torque.....but could also be driven by a little old lady to Church on Sunday.
I'd love a Corvette, but in Aus, it'd have to be converted to R.H.D., which I reckon "spoils" the car.
How would you go against a ZR1?
Regards, Pickles.

I don't know about the old lady going to church though. LOL. The car is a pain in the *** to drive to be honest. Not the worst car Ive driven, my 66 Chevelle takes that easily.
The ZR1 in the hands of a good driver will easily beat a Z06. As expected though considering how much more HP the ZR1 has. I believe the best time is 10.4 1/4 mile out of the box. 10.7 for the Z06. Both bone stock on drags

I thought I could hear Enya playing in the background: "sail away sail away sail away"
Such a beast, that Z06. Very cool to see Jon's car run. It's a strong C63.
Looking forward to updates on your Z06 build.
