Question on 2012+ interior
So I'm looking to go from 2 car payments to 1 as soon as the weather starts to settle down up here in NY. I'm thinking with all the threads posted about C63's in the winter and people being content with it on a decent set of tires I might just make one my year round car.
That being said, I'd be looking to trade both my RS4 and C63 for a facelift C63. I'd like to spend in the neighborhood of 50-55k. I just can't get over the sound the AMG makes and would be very happy spending less than the $1200/mo that I do on cars. My mortgage is that much...
Anywho, to the point, I've been looking high and low and I have come across so many C63's that have that 2-textured seating. It's like alcantara with leather on the sides and a nicer cloth in the middle.
Do a lot of you have that? For me, I prefer the full leather. I also see seats like my 09 in some, then seats like mine just with cloth centers, and then I see something completely different in some coupes that have both full leather as well as cloth/leather.
I guess the question is, why so many variations? And, what does it do to the value? I assume full leather is more desirable and drives the price up some but not entirely sure.
Thoughts?

That's what I prefer. Then I find a C63 I like...
Black exterior, check.
Facelift, check.
Proper headlights, check.
WTF IS THIS INTERIOR!!!! -_-
Onto the next one...

Not sure but I'd guess the leather would help value if you can keep it in top shape. Supposedly the MB-TEX/DYNAMICA option holds up better over time so it may be more desirable for some. I prefer it since it can handle small children better.

^Ah ok thanks. I didn't know the leather was an option, then I again I never ordered a new car and picked out what I wanted.
Don't get me wrong, not saying I hate the mb-tex just saying I prefer the leather. Also, no kids, no wife, just two dogs and I can just get cheap little rear seat protection hammocks for them which have worked well for me.
I just brought it up because I never really see that type of interior on here. I usually see full leather or over-the-top awesomesauce like andrewc63.
Thanks for the input, may the search continue..

I have the MB-Tex/DINAMICA interior.
I love it. The DINAMICA (synthetic alcantara) looks very sporty, in my opinion. Furthermore, it is very comfortable and breathable.
Plus, my interior still looks brand new . . .
The 507 gets the best combination, in my opinion: DINAMICA and leather (in lieu of MB-Tex).

I only see that red/black in coupes and I'm really looking to keep it to a sedan especially because it will be my only car

Not sure if it matters to you but I think the Dynamica only has 8 way power seats vs the 14 way power w/memory you get with the leather package. Notice the power adjustments move from the door with the leather package to the seat with the dynamica package. The dynamica has a manual back/forth lever on the bottom of the driver's seat. There might also be a diff on the passenger seats ... don't recall the specifics.

When I was looking for a used 12+ I saw the same thing - easily 80% of the cars I saw online had the MB-Tex interior. I thought it was weird because almost all of the 09 and earlier cars had full leather. The two-tone red or white interiors are amazing and I really wanted a car with one.
In the end I found a car that had everything I wanted, including the LSD (which is an even rarer option than full leather), but had the MB-Tex. I bought it anyway and honestly I don't mind it at all. People comment on how nice the suede (or whatever material it is) inserts look. Two tone would have been ideal, but when searching for a used car you'll likely have to compromise somewhere.

Does that MB-tex have heated seats?

Well that makes things interesting. Now I sort of question my leather. If the tex has heated seats, and holds up longer (generally) or at least has a better appearance it seems like you can't go wrong.
I suppose the leather seats shouldn't be as much of a contributing factor as I am making them.

I would have gladly taken a car with leather as well but IMHO, you cannot go wrong with either choice. Best of luck.

Thanks for the input guys. No rush for me on getting a facelift, but the winter seems to have some lower priced AMG's especially up here. That being sad, the trade in value on mine will be less so I'll likely just ride out the RS4 through the winter and get the car as the weather breaks.
