Long Term Plans for Your C63 AMG
Hello All,
I have owned my '13 C63 for a little over ten months now and put a little over 6,700 miles on it. So far the only issue I've had is with the occasional lifter rattle (maybe 3-4 times so far) that goes away after a few miles of driving. I thought I had a problem with the blind spot assist but I just needed to understand how it works. If this car continues to hold up as well as it has so far then I plan on keeping it for the long haul, maybe as long as ten years. So, my question to all of you is: Considering that many don't keep their performance car long and move on to something else in a relatively short period of time, is this also true for the C63 or is this a keeper in your eyes like it is in mine?

I bought an 09 some time ago while I was changing cars like underwear. Finally decided to settle down a bit and just pick one, it was a 13 C63.
I'm hoping to have this car for 5 years or so. Life happens, but I definitely have more of a want to keep this car than anything else I've had so far. The only thing I see myself letting it go for is the E63S when those prices dip down.

Hi PurpleHeartAMG,
Yeah I kept my '09 and '12 ISFs for only two years each. But the C63 has some serious soul to it and harkens back to cars I remember as a kid especially with the sound. Just a true modern hot rod that is also pretty utilitarian to boot.

I bought my C63 about two weeks ago and it's my first performance car. I will hang on to it for at least 5 years or so. By then I hope MB unveils an E63 coupe, but that's wishful thinking.

I'm keeping mine forever. Long term plans:
-update head bolts or studs
-LTHs
-carbon big fin diffuser
-nice set of wheels
-wavetrac LSD
There's a whole dream list that has a BS body kit and a blower but I haven't figured out how to rob a bank yet...

2015 E63S AMG & 2013 GLK350
I had my C63 coupe for 23 months and just shy of 27k miles, was an incredible car. I had MBH headers and a some other mods done within the first few thousand miles and thoroughly enjoyed it. That said modern performance car technology changes so fast I can't seem to hold anything to term, the shortest I've had one was 10 months. I will say the E63 S is the first car I've had in a while, besides my race cars, that I think I may keep to term. But then again who knows what performance cars will come out in the next 28-32 months that can change my mind.

I'd rather keep my mint condition, gorgeous beast with its awesome V8 than the $28K I can get for it then. The car is phenomenal...It's one for the history books and an awesome contender to any stable...

Had it since brand new; 10 model build date 9/09 and purchased in 10/09 only 10k miles.
Future plans include a LSD, weistec oil/air separator, weistec billet pulleys and i guess eventually change out the head bolts.
For now the car is gonna look stock. Maybe down the road might change my mind and put in CF diffuser and lip.
Plan on keeping the car as long as i live, pass it down etc etc etc

I always keep my cars for 10+ years.
Here is the list as example:
- Dodge Stealth TT 1993-2009
- Lexus IS300 L-tuned 2002-still have it
- Lexus ISF 2009- still have it with around 20k km on the clock
- MB C63 2010- still have it with around 12k km on the clock
I take good care of my cars, don't drive them in winter months (except the Stealth TT AWD) so never have problems keeping them for long terms.

Zeph, ur car is looking sick with the multispokes. A slight drop would set it off perfectly.

Haha...H&R springs are brand new in box waiting to be installed! Just can't find the time
Also looking at front CF lip and race stripes like DOME....
The car is a 2010, just hit 20K miles and it looks show room new.
Just changed:
Brand New MB Battery
PIAA Eyebrows
Michelin PSS All 4
Brand New Factory Multispokes all 4

Thanks for all of the responses! It sounds as if at least some will keep their C63 for a very long time. I really want to do some light mods (tune, headers if they were legal in CA) but don't want any issues with the warranty. Anyway, I realize that there is always something faster or better in some other way right around the corner so to speak but this machine really speaks to me more than any other that I have owned. I still think that it's amazing that a 6.2L engine could be stuffed in this rather small sedan. Yeah, it's a keeper.

the only car i plan to keep "long term" is my Gallardo.
Everything else for now is just a stepping stone to get to that point. So nothing will be owned for more than 2 years.

I thought I'd have my 98 M3/4/5 forever, but then it got Camryed by a person fiddling with their phone. Picked up a '12 GTI (really liveable, functional, and even somewhat fun car, but just no soul). Recently picked up the C63 after I was sure I wanted a E90, put a deposit on a Golf R, and then made the mistake of test driving this car. Now I can't get the grin off my face (as I drive from gas station to gas station). Assuming it stays together, I'll likely hold onto this one for a while.

I had a big mod year in 2014, I want to have my car finished in the first half of 2015. Want to get the primary cats cut with the rocket rocker switch.
Aside from that, I am kind of sick of running the 255 on the factory 18s, so maybe if I find a good deal on a nice used set of ADV1s with tires I will pull the trigger!
