Front LCA ball joint
So, mine is jacked.
Looks like the ball joint can't be replaced so you have to replace the whole LCA. Who does that?

I did one of them on my old C63. Annoying. The problem is, they're special AL control arms, so unlike the rest of the C-class cars, where they're cheap and easy, we get to spend the real money. That said, it's a pretty easy job and low on the labor cost front. The big question is, do you do both of them while you're at it? (I didn't.)
How many miles? Mine went at about 73K.

The regular C class LCA is $150.
Right side is absolutely fine so I only ordered the left. A ball joint shouldn't wear out like that though. I'm at 109K Km (~68K miles)
I have a pavement transition leaving my subdivision (still under construction) that I hit every morning with the wheel turned to the left. I think it's been putting a lot of stress on that joint.

Anyone ever try one of these. Moog is a quality part.

Steering is crisp now. I have a feeling this ball joint has been out of spec for a while. It just wasn't noticeable enough trigger concern until it started making noise recently.
Was hot as ***** slaving under the car though

Yup.... replaced both of mine in the spring.
Dealer part only. Annoying. Ended up sourcing two of them from a scrap yard in Michigan. $500 all in for both.

Ended up having to do the right side as well. The joint was not nearly as bad but it was dry as fuŠk as well.
If you track your car I'd suggest trying to inject more grease in to prevent this. Even if you don't it's likely a good idea.
Unfortunately the MOOG replacements are only for the regular C class (I called to confirm) so your only option is to get butt raped by the ridiculously priced OEM parts.
