Car won't start
My CLK55 is sitting dead in my garage right now. Battery is fine since everything lights up.It keeps cranking and cranking but won't fire. Tried about five times. Called dealership and they think it might be a fuel problem like the fuel pump. Having it flatbedded to the dealership soon.
My car only has 43K miles. Sure its six years old but a bad fuel pump with so few miles? I have a bad feeling this is gonna cost me some big bucks.

It could be anything, but I'm betting the CPS is dead. It's common and cheap (cheap being my favorite). One way to check is to grab a timing light and have someone else crank it. If the timing light doesn't illuminate, there's no spark. No spark is probably the CPS. If I remember how Bosch ME works, a dead CPS also kills the injectors. Without knowing the crankshaft position (or more correctly, thinking that it's stopped), there's no injector timing.
Oh well, back to work. Post what the dealer finds. I need something to break up a dull Tuesday.

Keep us posted, buddy. Hope it is an easy fix. If you do have to take it to the dealer, be sure and call MBUSA via the 800 line, and have a case manager also work on it and talk to the dealer about reducing the price of the service, since you are still under 50K, even though no longer in warranty.

probably fuel pump--I just had one replaced on my 2005 CLK500 at 24,000 miles. I think it's from me going too low on a tank of gas (2-3 miles to empty) too many times--just a thought. Dealer had no opinion on what cause it--mine was under warrenty, but I saw the bill--it was like $700.
My car died on the highway as I was driving.

Sorry man.
Just got the car back today.
Here's what was written on the service sheet:
:Customer states Veh towed in due to a crank no start condition. Check and report. Tech verified complaint. Performed short test. No codes found. Tech performed fuel press and delivery test. Test found no fuel. Tech performed crank sensor test. Working okay. Check power & ground to fuel pumps. Found faulty. Check fuse and relay. Fuse stuck open. Replaced relay. During test found seating ring for MAF not seating properly. Replaced seal. Also performed fuel system flush to get rid of old fuel. Tech found yellow coming out of fuel port. Veh starting fine now."
A48 5664 $157.43
Fuel service $49.95
Gasket $6.08
Relay $19.50
So I guess I got away cheap this time.
I'm just happy my car starts now.

i have the same problem now
My car wouldn't start ( have cranks). I tried like 10 times and didn't work. Then got out of the car waited for like 5 mins and then gave a crank and it worked. ( i know it sounds weird). But the bad thing is, i have a check engine light now.
Any ideas. I have 600 miles left to Service B.
thanks,
Raj
