Sibling Rivalry (E55 vs E63)
I'm not so great at this story telling... But here's what happened...
On my way back from the last client visit of the day, I decided to take the highway home and make sure the tires got nice and round.
As I'm cresting the horse shoe on-ramp, I check my side view and find a mirror image in my mirror. A double-take confirms it... I'm looking at another W211 AMG...
A quick back story: I've only seen two W211 AMG cars in neighboring lanes in the last few years. Notably, I was driving my modified SRT8 300. And that encounter was ruined by traffic...
But not this time...
The E63 and I patiently navigated through traffic to find a few miles of unadulterated asphalt... And when we did, the southbound lane was treated to a 16 cylinder AMG symphony. A refined cacophony of internal combustion, if you will.
I allowed Mr. 63 to take point first. Watching his quad exhaust, I waited until four barrels shot carbon, and then I dropped the hammer... He got the hit, but as the next gear change came about, closing the gap was easier than reeling through a Zebco.
We were lucky enough to get another chance, and Mr. 63 gave me the point. This time, there was no lead before the hammer came down...
This was decimation.
I felt at this point that we'd had a fair fight; that two aficionados satiated their need for speed... Or at least I thought...
For when I glanced at my rear view, he was getting smaller by the second.
So whoever your are, Mr. E63... I respectfully salute your valiant effort. And should we cross paths again, you and your girlfriend are welcome to admire my E55 AMG badges for as long as you like.
Regards,
Rob CL

Well thanks to you both! I'm just enjoying the ride, so-to-speak. And no offense meant to any of the 63 W211s out there, I respect them just as much.
