I just did the facelift so I can probably provide a bit of guidance based on my experience. I have a 2008 S550 4Matic that didnt have any of the AMG body kit on it, it was stock.

You will probably need to find a good bodyshop in your area. I already had a European auto repair shop that I took my wifes audi to. I talked to them about doing the facelift and they said that they could do it. I had to buy most of the parts however. I was especially concerned about the wiring for the LED DRLs. Here is what you will need to buy:

1. Front bumper (I got a used OEM amg bumper off ebay - if you are getting a used one make sure it has all of the internal brackets. I found a iriduim silver one (that already matched my car), however didnt see until I received it that it was missing an internal bracket. I could not find anywhere to order just that part, and was told that it was part of the bumper, so I had to buy another amg bumper off ebay. Also make sure it has all of the rain covers and tow hitch covers. I was missing one but luckily the new bumper I ordered had these parts so my auto shop painted them. Overall it would have been easier to go aftermarket because you get everything you need. I got the first bumper for $350 shipped, then the second one for around the same, so I ended up spending about $700 total for this.

2. If you go with an OEM Amg cover you will need to buy new wheel liners and energy absorbers. I got all of these from vipgermanparts.com. I believe I spent around $200 on these extra parts.

3. The LED DRLS - there are three different kinds of LED's, one is for the standard facelift bumper (non amg), the other is for the AMG body kit, and then S63 LEDs. I ordered the OEM LEDs from vipgermanparts. Cost was around $300-$350 for the pair

4. Wiring harness for LED's - I bought these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Daytime-Running-Light-DRL-Relay-Harness-Auto-Control-On-Off-Switch-Universal-/360394205189?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53e92b2805&vxp=mtr
Be advised my mechanic said he had to make connectors that would fit the OEM DRLs. My guy knew a good amount about wiring so he was able to make them work. - cost $30

Total for paint and installation it came out to around $500. Total I probably spent around $1700 on just the front bumper facelift. It probably would have been closer to $1400 if I didnt mess up and have to buy the second bumper.

I am currently also doing the side skirts and rear s63 bumper as well. I went aftermarket because I wanted to make sure they came with everything. Total I spent around $1200 on the rear bumper, side skirts, and quad exhaust tips (no AMG branding)

Side Skirts:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251605966395?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Rear bumper:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251533303692?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Exhaust tips:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131178906647?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Total to install these including paint $500.

Total I am probably in about $3500 to do the total facelift. It was alot but I got a great deal on my S550 so I am OK with that.

From my research there are three varients of the front end facelift:

1. Regular Non AMG Front Bumper:

2. AMG Body Kit - this is the same bumper I got, the LEDs are slightly different size even though they look almost the same:

3. S65 Front Bumper:

And since you didnt do the healights with the adapter cablekit like I did on mine, what did you do with the old foglights and error message they leave when removed?

When I started this project I wanted to use as many OEM parts as possible. My front bumper is all OEM except for the wiring harness. Also all I wanted to facelift was the front but after I did that I felt like I should do the side skirts and rear as well. For those I went with aftermarket and they worked great. If option 3 is cheaper I would probably go with that if you like the kit.

Chris I am not sure what my mechanic did, but I have only seen the foglight error maybe once or twice right when I start the car up, but it disappears, but most often I never see any error message relating to the foglight. I can ask him what he did to fix that

also i found the rims on ebay used, they are original OEM amg rims. I got them for $700 shipped which I thought was a great deal. I just had to buy new tires which were more expensive than the rims.

only one thing is that the mechanic used the original wheel liners and they are not covering the entire area where the body kit is. I may buy new liners to fill in the gaps. I just dont want dirt and stuff getting kicked back there.

1. No you dont get it all on aftermarket. ALOT is missing of the inside brackets and covers and you also need the AMG Wheel liners. The non amg dont cover it all.

3. There are only 2 DRL versions. Normal version wich fit standard and sport bumpers and AMG version wich fit S63 and S65 bumpers. And notice that The aftermarket versions dont dim.

Thanx a million...You need alot of parts and they are actually hard to find since they are not pictured in EPC corectly. You need some brackets and Wheel liners. You can manage withut them all but it wont be perfect. And if you have distronic you have Another problem as well...
