S65 2007 first impression
Just bought an s65 amg 2007 with 40k miles... Dealer reported:
1) right rear strut gone
2) one of the two electronic parking break actuators not engaging
3) front right wheel mass bearing noise
4) Oil level - temperature sensor not working, because of this I get a red warning "reduce oil level"... I feel the car not as impressive as my E55.
Is it possible the ECU is protecting the car with less power... Any experiences

Maybe your new S65 is not running 100%? I feel once the turbos spool up look the F out because things get crazy fast. Hopefully you get her all up in order and enjoy the new ride!

thanks Johan... I press the gas pedal and seems car is reacting not as violent as my E55; i havent seen the yellow triangle yet, so i dont know... The car was driven by a chauffer for a bussines man to take him to worlk since new so maybe the ECU has to "learn" my new driving conditions... Is there a process to reset ECU?

Did you get a prepurchase inspection? Seems like a lot of repairs for a car that you just bought. Once you get everything taken care of you going to love it. I'm in the market for a 2008 - 2009 S65 too!
Enjoy it!

I know.... the thing is here in Mexico, the S65 is such a rare car, I guess they sold less than 10 (maybe some one can check the exact number) so once it hit the market I was extreamly anxious to get it, specially for 37,500 usd, so i took the risk... and will cost me 3,000 more, but the good part is that compression, transmission, turbos, etc are ok.... and now is in my garage.

V12TT engines are at the mercy of their charge cooler systems. Its imperative that there's no air in the system, but there's no good way to get it all out. You may need a good dealer with the vacuum bleeding system. Obviously the pump has to be working right, too, but its not obvious if it fails.

An Update... Everything is adressed and car runs amaizing. Just want to know whats the normal oil temperature range, I have seem up to 107 celsius on a 40 celsius hot day.

107 celcius is about 224 ferenheit. I have not seen a temp that high even on the hottest days in Dallas. But I think it would depend on engine speed. On the freeway turning 2K RPM mine runs about 210 maybe 212. Doesn't really matter what the ambient temp is. Even on a 100+ day. If I'm in a lower gear and get the revs up driving aggressively it can spike to 219-221. I imagine an extended high speed drive would push the temps up but around here high speed is only 80 MPH. Driving on surface streets/sitting at lights etc. temp drops to 205 no lower.
