Remote Start - Mixed Results
My remote start (through MercedesMe or mBrace) seems to be spotty at best. The lock/unlock works like a charm, but the remote start works maybe 10% of the time. It always give the error message "your sun roof or windows are open *Other Conditions may Apply."
It will work randomly, but is obviously not acceptable.
I will address it with the dealer, but am curious if others are seeing this or have resolved it.
Thanks,

I've only tried it once just for grins and giggles (it worked)...however not sure if they can pinpoint a vehicle issue or just a poorly designed app.

It's a good thing it is free because not one would pay for such a piece of grap.
Have owned 10 new mbs over the last 25 years and this feature is so un Mercedes.
They should go back to remote start in the key.

MB has never had remote start via the key. how is it a piece of "grap"? It functions exactly as advertised. I have a 9 month old and live in FL. I love being able to start the car before we leave somewhere so it isn't burning hot in the back of the car for him when we get in.

Myself, my brother and my nephew all have brand new mbs
All three of us have the same problem with auto start.
Sometimes it works other times (more often) it doesn't work. I guess if yours works that good, consider yourself lucky.

You live in FL
You can't compare the results you get with that of someone in RI. The winters in RI are usually rainy and overcast and when it's over cast the cloud layer blocks the satellite signal which blocks the functioning of the Mercedes Me. Of course you live in FL where I'm guessing the sun shines more than 275 days a year so there's no weather patterns to interfere with your Mercedes Me signal. I live in NJ and my signal doesn't work more times than it does. I think MB overstepped their abilities when they made this Mercedes Me a standard piece of equipment in their "E" class cars, it wasn't well thought out imo.

If what you say is true, satellite TV networks such as Dish and DirecTV wouldn't operate in rainy areas of the country. Only severe storms block a satellite signal.
Mercedes Me does not use satellite. The Mercedes Me website says that it is powered by mbrace, a Verizon cellular service

Having the same frustrating problem. Early on the remote start worked fine. But lately I haven't been able to get it to work. Keeps saying "windows or sunroof are not fully shut" (which is not true - everything is shut) or "error occurred."
Anyone found any solutions?

Its a cellphone based system, thus, its as good as Verizon is in your particular area. On my C400 the command internet function, barely worked when I bought the car, now it actually works fairly good. At least for the E class its 4G the previous iteration of the system was only 3G.

After some experimentation, it appears that mine won't remote start when in the garage or when parked close to the house. ( I know, it would be dangerous to start it in the garage anyway...) Seems like it is a cell coverage issue for me - when the car is parked in the clear, it works every time. The remote unlock command, on the other hand, appears to be less sensitive and works more consistently.
