Is This 190E 2.5-16 Evolution the Ultimate M3 Fighter?

Could this Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution really be the perfect alternative to the E30 M3?

Well, our friends at Automobile Magazine seem to think so. In fact, the car mag puts up a pretty good argument to make the point. Below are five facts highlighted in the report about the 190E, which was recently featured on Bring a Trailer.

1) “Each Evo I packed a revised powerplant, featuring a similar horsepower output, but a shorter stroke and bigger bore that raised the redline. Just 502 of these specials were made…”

2) …just 60 of those wore the sinister-sounding AMG “Power Pack.”

3) “Each AMG Power Pack included bigger throttle body, aggressive camshafts, updated ignition and fuel systems, and revised intake and exhaust plumbing.”

4) “Outside, this car wears the wonderful Evo aero kit, including the massive rear wing and deeper front lip.”

5) The 190E just sold for $58,000, which seems like a pretty good deal, given all the accolades above. What do you think?
