Lawnmower Better Than AMG GT S

The AMG GT Cuts Through the Greenbacks in Your Wallet. The Lawnmower Cuts Through the Green Blades on Your Lawn

A seldom (never) asked question came up recently on our forums, and it has us thinking rather deeply today. At hand, we have a simple dilemma: is it better to buy an AMG GT or a lawnmower?

Because we’re thorough here at MBWorld, we decided to help 2016AMGGTS answer his question. So we are comparing the AMG GT to a riding lawn mower. Honestly, a push-it-yourself mower just wouldn’t do. As such, we have narrowed the competition down to the John Deere S240 Sport.

This might be surprising, but we actually found five solid reasons to go with the lawn equipment.

1. It has a familiar name

While it might not have the same seating and luxury arrangements of the Mercedes S-Class, the John Deere S240 wears the S badge proudly. Sure, it isn’t a fire-breather, like an S65, but they could have thrown the Dinamica badge on this mower, and we’d have never known the difference.

2. You can enjoy a drive and be productive as well

When is the last time you were able to get some chores done while going for a drive in your AMG GT?

3. It’s breaking (and cutting) new ground

We landed on the S240 because we never knew a sport model of a riding lawn mower existed. With automotive technology moving towards hybrids and complex technology, niche buyers will want a ride that goes back to basics. Man and machine, and the simple pleasure of wind in your hair.

4. It comes in better shades of green

John Deere Green has a certain celebrity aspect too it. However, AMG calls the green on the GT R “Green Hell Mango.” Make of that what you will.

5. The S240 has better reviews than the AMG GT

Small margins might be ignoble to some, but as they say, a win is a win. Consumer Reports indicates that the John Deere S240 Sport is rated at 4.3 out of 5 stars. Trailing slightly behind is the AMG, at 4.2, according to Cars.com.

So there you have it, five reasons why you need to walk out of that Mercedes showroom, and march right into your local lawn equipment dealer instead.
