It’s not just Mercedes. Porsche and BMW have also taken European delivery options away from customers in the United States.

European delivery is something enthusiasts dream about. Picking up your custom-built machine straight from the factory is bucket list stuff. Mercedes’ European Delivery Program for American buyers even includes a stay in a nice hotel, a tour of the factory, a full tank of gas, and fifteen days of insurance for driving around the Old World.

It sounds amazing, and we’re sure it’s worth every penny. But for those of us who can’t afford to pick up a bespoke car in Europe right now, this video provides an in-depth look at the program. And at the end of it all, your new ride is packed up and shipped to a U.S. port. Sounds almost too good to be true, right? Unfortunately, thanks to recent developments, it looks like it is.

While generations of Mercedes-Benz fans have been able to take advantage of this program, it looks like Mercedes has quietly discontinued it.

In a recent video, Nick Murray, a YouTube personality and Porsche owner, claims that European delivery is no longer an option for three major German automakers: Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche. After searching the automakers’ websites, it looks like he’s onto something.

On all three respective websites, interested buyers once had the option to tick a box for European delivery. This option is now missing on all of them. The move to take European delivery off of the table must have been a recent one, as Lurkerlisa, a junior member of MBworld recently stated that they put an order in for a Mercedes-Benz GLC300 4Matic and picked it up in Europe.

We hope that this change won’t be a permanent one. After all, European delivery is one of the biggest perks of purchasing a brand new Mercedes. And that’s saying something.
