Mercedes-Benz launches online vehicle sales platform with a limited supply of EDITION 1 versions of the UK-market X-Class.

While us Yanks are sitting on our hands wondering when/if the X-Class is coming to the United States, everyone else around the world is welcoming the new truck with the three-pointed star on the grill. And for a few truly lucky Brits, shopping for one is but a right-click away.

Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd announced a new online vehicle sales platform “in response to customer demand for the new X-Class and the changing consumer buying habits seen in the automotive industry.” And it’s doing so with style.

Those who purchase their X-Class through the sales portal will be able to get their hands on one of a few EDITION 1 versions of the pickup. The EDITION 1 has everything from the POWER X-Class, including electric seats, automatic climate control, and the Keyless-Go locking/unlocking system. Heated seats and washer fluid jets are also part of the package, a much-needed set of options for the colder months over in the UK.

In addition to ordering their vehicles online, they can have their new X-Class delivered directly to their door, or arrange to pick up the pickup at their nearest Mercedes dealership. And of course, there will be three financing options available, depending on how the truck will be used. Two free services are also available to EDITION 1 X-Class owners, and while information on what those are about was not explained, said services are aimed at “making owning the vehicle as simple and convenient for the customer as possible.”

According to Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd managing director Steve Bridge, the new sales channel is part of Mercedes’ diversification and growth towards its goal of providing various mobility solutions. Bridge says the online channel, part of the adVANce strategic initiative, won’t “replace the existing dealer network,” but will “extend the breadth of customers” Mercedes can connect with.
