If you come across a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series nicer this one for sale, be sure to share it with us here at MB World.

Though, we doubt it’ll be available long. Then again, this seemingly impossible-to-pass-up model hasn’t managed to lure a buyer yet, which really comes as a surprise considering the pristine condition of the classic sedan. Posted on San Diego’s Craigslist, the ’79 Mercedes has been restored to its original form with a few modern touches and only has 59,855 miles on the odometer.

The classic model is powered by Mercedes’ 6.9-liter fuel-injected V8. Other features include four-wheel power disc brakes, central locking, a hydraulic leveling system, and working air conditioning. The Mercedes 400’s original color, Milan Brown, has been repainted a classic gray that only enhances its vintage appeal. The Mercedes 400 rides on Lorinser wheels and new Falcon [sic — probably Falken] tires, according to the seller’s summary.

The interior of the sedan is decked out in “Tobacco Brown” leather through and through. In fact, according to the seller, the only things that hinder the car from near-perfect status is a slight scratch on the front fender and a minor hairline scratch on the dash.

The seller, a private collector, has a listed asking price of $38,000 for the sedan, which seems more than fair. If you opt out of the Lorinser wheels, the buyer says he’ll swap them out for the car’s original wheels and deduct $4,000 from the asking price.

Personally, we’d probably keep the Lorinser wheels and swallow the $4,000, given how much they add to the car’s looks.
