BringATrailer C36 AMG for sale

A friend of MBWorld has listed his classic, well-maintained 1990s AMG and it could be yours.

If you’ve been around these parts long enough, you know that we love posting links to cool cars we find on BringATrailer. It’s a great place to find cool, interesting cars for sale, and if you’re a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, you can always find one or two cool examples of the marque on offer.

This time, though, it’s different. Owned by a friend in San Francisco, California, this 1995 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG was our ride as we were chauffeured around the city to see the sights a couple of months ago. We find it a little surreal to see it listed on BringATrailer, but the car certainly deserves a featured spot.

America got only about 400 C36s in 1995, so it’s suitably rare. This example has been well taken care of, too with a very clean body showing a few dings and dents. The AMG Monobock wheels look great with just a bit of curb rash.

The interior is equally clean and well-preserved with only the slightest bunching on the driver’s seat. Cruising through San Francisco’s various microclimates, we can report that the heat and the air conditioning work as they should.

Mechanically, the car is very sound, with a recent top-end rebuild roughly 15k miles ago. The owner has kept up on maintenance and has a huge stack of receipts dating back to the year 2000 to go along with the car. While the owner has only owner it since earlier this year, he certainly kept up the previous owner’s meticulous maintenance schedule.

The only deviations from stock are a modern Pioneer stereo head unit, an upgraded cat-back exhaust, and Vogtland springs that give it that “just right” stance.

If you’re a fan of 1990s AMGs – we certainly hope you are if you read MBWorld – you can find this car on BringATrailer. It’d make a cool daily driver, with most if not all of the hard work done and only the most minor of exterior refreshment necessary.
