German Battle Royale: C63 S v. GT63 S v. RS6 Avant
Watch as these Teutonic titans go head-to-head at the strip with some of its European rivals.
A lot of us would consider drag racing to be somewhat of an American pastime. However, Europeans also enjoy a good drag race or two. While these might not be the big-block Chevy V8s we are used to, these V8-powered beasts are definitely something we can still get behind. All of the action brought to you in this video is from Cvdzijden – Supercar Videos on YouTube, a popular “supercar” channel with over 300 million views.
This time we join the channel at Petrolhead Spring Event in Weeze, Germany. This event is definitely designed for luxury cars and exotics. It didn’t seem there was a single vehicle among the field that could be considered “cheap”. The beginning of the video begins the usual kind of shenanigans you always see at a large car show/meets like this one. One of our protagonists, a matte grey W205 C63 S, is the first to do a rolling burnout while leaving the show. It seems that this AMG has a healthy amount of modifications. At least the exhaust is far from stock. According to the video description, this C63 S is catless. Thus, by removing the restrictive emissions devices in the exhaust, we get more volume and more power. Sounds like a win win right?
Well, let’s see how this particular C63 S stacks up against some of its rivals at the staging tree. First up is a W204 C63 AMG going up against our newer W205 C63 S. After a proper smoky burnout by both, they stage for the race. After the launch, it is evident that that older C63 is no match in a straight line with its newer twin turbocharged brother.
What about a GT63 S 4-door coupe against the C63 S? Well, at that point the tables turn as the GT63 S leaves the opponent 4-door luxury sedan in the dust. Granted, not by much. Considering there was all different types of competition waiting, the next on the list was an Audi RS6 Avant. The Audi would reign successful over the C63 S, mainly due to its AWD launch speed. We would like to see another race with this Audi going head to head with a E63 S wagon for the true crown of wagons.
Believe it or not, at the end of the video, our friendly AMG goes up against not one, but two Lamborghini Huracans. As you might imagine, this did not end well for the C-class in either situation. However, that didn’t make it any less fun to watch. Considering this C63 S had a couple of passengers in it during mostly all of its runs, we know this event for fun. Looks like they know how to get down in Germany!
