It’s Okay to Drool Over This 300 CE 3.4 AMG
No doubt there will be a lot of Mercedes-Benz fans wishing they had plucked down $47,000 on this rare piece of machinery, when they had the chance.
This Mercedes-Benz 300 CE 3.4 AMG, one of only 25 built, was born during an era when AMG had the freedom to run wild and create some beastly high-performance variants.
Not that the joint venture between MB and AMG hasn’t yielded some pretty awesome automobiles since the two partnered in 1993. It’s just that when a larger company teams up with a smaller one, it tends to come with some tight constraints for the latter.
That’s why we’ve been going nuts since we first stumbled on this eBay find, recently highlighted in an Automobile report.
Under the hood is a 3.4-liter inline-six engine packing 272 horsepower. But the beauty of AMG’s earlier work comes to life in design elements like the wide-body and extra cladding, as well as some of the details inside, like the classic Recaro leather seats.
Perhaps that’s why this one didn’t hang out on eBay for very long.
