The Last Mercedes Benz FF73

The Formula 1 season has been nothing short of domination by Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing. He’s been the best driver of the season by a long margin. His car has been nothing to sneeze at either. The Adrian Newey designed RB9 chassis appears to be in a league of its own starting at the midway point of the season. From Hungary forwarwd, there has been no parity.

Next season the rules change in Formula1. Gone are the naturally aspirated V8’s. The high red-lining engines are to be replaced by a turbo six cylinder engine mated to an electric motor. The change could have a drastic effect on a car’s reliability, and the parity fans have been missing could suddenly return.

As a tribute the the V-8 FF73 Mercedes-Benz were nice enough to post some photos and share of video of the very last F1 V-8 they will ever produce for racing in the car of Nico Rosberg or Lewis Hamilton.

It’s sad to see these engines go, but F1 is aware of the times. Farewell!
