If you’ve been waiting for a “Black” series of the AMG GT to break cover, it seems like it is closer than ever. Likely to be named the AMG GT-R, this one has its sights set much higher than the impressive, albeit silly, SLS Black.

Our friends at Motor Authority recently spied this Mercedes E63 AMG wagon doing some testing, and the pictures are about as detailed as possible.

The new body style for the E-class hasn’t even been out for a hot minute, and already the AMG versions have been spied during cold-weather testing.

Judging by the spy pics, this black cabrio is the C43 version, given the more aggressive, but not quite AMG level front bumper, and quad tailpipes.
