The Tyrannosaurus Rex in Jurassic Park was only interested in eating those people in the Jeep Grand Cherokee. But this glass and steel T-Rex seems to have a panache for gobbling up iconic Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Created by a pair of film students in Germany to promote Mercedes-Benz’s historical automotive museum, the short film takes the company’s Stuttgart museum and transforms it into a living, breathing T-Rex that travels through time, feeding on various Mercedes-Benz vehicles throughout history. By cleverly editing the museum T-Rex into archival race footage, you will likely never look at the structure the same way again.

The film itself is titled A Museum Monster, but the Mercedes-Benz tagline of “Hungry for History” seems more apropos and lighthearted.

The film was born from a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film as a way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the automaker’s museum. As for the museum itself, it is one of the top tourist attractions in Stuttgart, and it serves as the home base for the automaker’s Classics division, when it’s not eating.
