Question 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II Conversion

I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could get a 2.5-16v engine (possibly w/transmission), and the Evolution II body kit (or a replica) to swap onto my 190E 2.3-16? I am trying a conversion, and have had no luck finding parts. Any help appreciated...

Bekkers.com sells the Evolution II kit. I think they might have also sold upgrades or conversions for the engine or might be able to help you find one.

Where are you from? As far as I know US does not have any 2.5 engines. I got one and already put it in my 2litre model. Awesome engine and still working at it as the car itself needs alot of restoration work.

Heard that you can get a stroker kit from Bekkers and it would be increased to 2.6litres. Don't know how that would work tho.

Good luck!

I bought my brand new euro spec 2.3-16V engine from Germany and you can find (I know one) 2.5's cams and pistons to swap with. Keep that in mind, euro spec 2.3-16V is rated at 185hp compare to 168hp from the us spec.

I am in Denver, CO. I think I am going to stick with the 2.3-16v, but I want some horsepower performance mods, and I am thinking about forced induction. Does anyone know of any good turbo kits for the 2.3?

Hi Guys,
FYI. I've recently talked to Bekkers about the Evo kit and the strokker kit. Both not available any more.
Regards,
Joe

Mosselman makes ones, but its expensive. Most people just custom make the turbo setup. Speedtek over on 190revolution.net may be able to help you with some parts/advice.

2.5 16 190e
2.5 conversion

the beckers kit used a stantard crank aftermarket rods and pistons all no longer avalible . so heres what you can do
you can buy cams from catcams germany, they have agents in the usa,and can supply from mild to a very wild 13.5 mm lift race cam and supply u with machining instuctions for the head ,there complete kit includes springs and retainers etc very high quailty billet
you can use a 2.3 block from 1989 onwards which will take an oem 2.5 crank & rods both good for 8000 rpm(as long as you use diesel rod bolts)also these rods are the same as in a e, s, or c280 and can be second hand, doing this with the later block allows u to use your, 2.3 engine(head, cams etc) but get up to 2.64 ltrs.also you could use a dtm short stroke crank from 190teile.te ask for thornston ,his price is,i think, cheaper than oem ,and you can order it to fit you old block, also use diesel engine mounts for less flex and craking your exhaust manifold.the real issues are the induction and ignition, both are crap and have to be changed if u use other cams, i have lots of info on both if you want to go there
