Where to start? The Italians or the Germans?
Sorry I have been away guys, busy building cars and selling them! Work has been killer. The last update, I sold the car due to lack of time. I revamped the raceteam with a couple Porsche's and an F360 GTC that will be ready for this season. Construction has just finished in the new shop, so I will post up some pictures of it!

Thought you had crashed while playing flightsim in your '747 mockpit' and were stranded on a desert island somewhere...

They're currently both out of my shop for the renovation so I'll be able to get some better pictures next month, but here's a few for ya!

Those two Pcars are just the trainers. We're going to run 996 GT3 cups once I teach my other drivers how to deal with the engines hanging over the a$$

For the cage build (and planned subframe work) we used these pictures as reference:

http://mercedes-190.co.uk/topic/218952/1

Lothar Mich of Atec Motorenbau (Herr Mich) pointed me towards this forum: http://w201-16v.de/w201/portal.php
His post was in this subtopic: http://www.w201-16v.de/w201/viewtopi...94&hilit=spass

This is from an email of a French superprod 190e that was for sale:
Hello,

I agree with you to have a discussion with you, but the problem is that I do not speak English very well. I use a translator to talk with you.

My time zone is GMT +1.

My mobile number is 0033 680472753.

I'll try to describe the car as possible.

The car is an old car super-French production, built at the factory "Snobeck. I bought a friend who drove over with the car. The windshield was broken, I disassembled. Then I repainted the car. But I never took the time to fully back the car.

Brakes:
Ø330 Brembo 4 pods
Ø300 Brembo 2 pods
pedalbox
7 dispatcher positions.

The gearbox is cooled with an oil cooler.
The rear axle is cooled with an oil cooler under the car.
The engine oil is cooled with a radiator.

there's a big anti-roll bar with arms at the front
The rear subframe is reinforced and stiffened

there is a dashboard stack.

The engine is not in its most powerful, about 280cv. But it is easily possible to have 340cv, but after the engine is less reliable.

….

I'll attach some pictures.

Sincerely. Steve Thabard.

Emails that I sent to Jim, the gentleman who bought the car from me are as follows:

I have dealt with these two companies (Atec Motorenbau is spectacular):
http://www.atecmotoren.de/

Team Stadler is good, but you have to hound them to death to get anything (I would recommend calling not emailing):
http://190teile.de/index_e.html

The rest I will get in touch with for you and give you a run down, but here are the links for now:

http://www.wuestefeld-motorsport.de/...ten/index.html

I´m very sorry about the late reply. We are moving with our shop and time is running out now.

Well, I would recommend to leave the axles as they are OEM.
For suspension we have adjustable race shocks for 1500 Euro and special springs for 450,- Euro. For the springs I need the weight of the car.
Center lock hubs are available as well, but do you have the correct wheels for this? A set of these hubs costs 1200,- Euro.
Leave the wishbones and axles bearings OEM.

What about brake system?

Hello,

this is thomas jäger from atec germany.
Here i have some prize infarmation for you, and some pictures from parts i think you may use.

1. class I engine with airbox 25.000,- euro
2. 6 speed gearbox with schifter 4.000,- euro
3. 2 pipe exaust system 1.400,- euro
3. handmade inconell 4 in 1 hedder 2.000,- euro

for the engine management i recomment one of these two ecu`s:

http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/pdf/e...MS_4_Sport.pdf

http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/pdf/e...S_44_Sport.pdf

I´m working for information, if you must have tde MS 4.4, or if it´s enough to use a MS 4 sport.

I think that´s enought with pizes at the moment, now many pictures

regards Thomas

TITANIUM CLUTCHES ARE BUILT BY: boninfanteracing.com

If any of you want to PM me your email, I will be more than happy to forward my emails that dealt with Atec/190teile/etc (lots of pictures and prices included).

Best,
Ricky

Just for record, if anybody reading this is wanting to make a replica DTM car, using the parts I was going to... It would cost roughly $400,000. That includes: paint, chrome molly cage, four motors, five transmissions, and other parts. That's just a rough estimate I made a long time ago. That does not include race support, rigs, or backup cars, drivers, etc. I do not remember if that included the wheels...but Colorado Custom Wheels (now located in Southern California) was willing to build magnesium copies of the DTM wheels. Roughly, you'll need 10 sets. As for the hubs, Forgeline makes single knock off conversion kits.
