You can download the installation manual and a user manual from the Dension site, www.dension.com - follow the "Download" tab.
The only text-capable head units are MOST-based COMAND.

mercedes E220cdi W211
Hi All,
Just installed the GW500 to my W211 E class with audio 20 setup (no cd changer). It works like a dream and the quality is very good. It boosts all the frequencies to give really refined audio.
The installation was very simple and i only had to remove the gear lever panel, ashtray, cd changer compartment and audio20 headunit.
Followed the Dension install instructions for the fibreoptic cables, drew power from the cigarette lighter, plugged in the ipod and everything worked as it was supposed to. Steering wheel buttons controls the ipod tracks. No text on the display though. Only track #.
Mercedes dealer had to activate the CDC function on their STARDIAGNOSE system.
If any of you audio20 guys are planning the same install, text me with any questions.
Planning to add an amp, rear speakers and a sub since such good audio output quality seems a shame to waste on the standard audio20 speakers and setup.

I'm about to do the same install .. quick question - what happens if the CDC function on their STARDIAGNOSE is not activated by the dealer?
Thanks

CDC does not need to be version coded as long as your comand has the MOST loop enabled... (this means that you have at least one other piece of telematics equipment connected to the radio via optical fiber). If not then you need to have that activated...

That makes sense - as I don't have a CD changer attached its most likely I'll need to activate the CDC function - my local Independent Merc shop can do this for me.
I'm going to fit it in the next week or so - I'll post up how I get on.

Hello,
If I have a 2006 E320 USA model, with command and in dash 6 disk changer, will I lose any functions?
I have read about it, but it is confusing....
Thanks for any clarification
