Argos D2b install help on w209

I'm trying to install an Argos D2B bluetooth unit on my (recently new) '04 CLK55. I have found the 25-pin connector, and there was also a fiber cable routed with it in the right quarter panel of the trunk. I plugged them both into the argos unit. I took off the plastic electronics cover to get to the fiber loops. (I don't know why they don't tell you remove this panel in the argos instructions.) I only see about 4 pairs in there, I can't find the Radio-In and Sound-Out fibers, I don't seem to have them. Does anyone know where they are? Other questions I have, what do I do with the fiber cable that came with the argos? Why did they tell me to remove the left quarter panel (it wasn't easy)?

I did try to connect the tel-out tel-in to two of the different loops and it didn't work. In one case my changer stopped working. I have also checked all the fuses. They seem to be correct. I have command 2.0 unit. I am fairly mechanically inclined, but the instructions provided make me feel like an idiot.

Thanks ahead of time

I did find a fifth pair of fibers marked E-Call in and Sound Out, I tapped into this spot and it did work briefly. I think a fuse blew or something else died. I fiddled around with it and it went back to it's original state. Now it just shows no phone again and I have no sound in the fiber loop.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your problem at the moment as I am still struggling to install an argos unit into my car. I have located numerous fiber optic cables but can't find the 25 pin connector. Please post or send me pics of the install if you have a chance. If I get the unit installed, hopefully I'll have more insight regarding your problem.

Thanks

I did find the correct optical cables. I'm fairly confident the argos unit I have is faulty. I got it to work a few times, but it is very intermittent. It only worked about twice. It's been currently sitting on my desk for the last 6 months. That's what I get for buying used on the forums I suppose.

The 25 pin cable is located on the right side of the trunk. You have to pull out the entire right shroud inside the trunk to access it. It ls located somewhat between the wheel well and the rear of the car. Mine was in a foam covering along with some other cables. I think there might of also have been a orange fiber cable riding along with it. Sorry I have no pictures as I have already replaced all the panels back into the car.

Thanks for the info. I got my unit working with no issues after I found all the wires.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I agree it is possible there could be an issue with your particular unit. I have heard some people complain about issues with the range of the unit. I would suggest trying to position the unit as close to the cabin (where your phone will be) as possible and make sure the arrow on the unit faces towards the phone (more or less).

Thanks again and good luck.

I have an Argos in my C230K. It's not very good, the instructions suck, Had to pay the dealer to turn the phone functions on with the Star computer. Range sucks and connects about 80% of the time. I will never buy a Argos again.

My SL on the other hand has a MB phone system and factory blue tooth, That sucker connects 100% of the time and will lock on and stay locked on 50ft from the car!

That's unfortunate. I have had no trouble since I installed the unit. It recognizes my phone automatically every time and the voice activated dialing works like a charm.

I wonder if you received a faulty unit. I would try contacting EIS directly. Their customer service is outstanding.

I tried contacting EIS before when I was debugging. They stopped all communication to me when I said I'm not the original owner of the unit. They could of at least responded saying they can't help me. Nice customer service. I'm over it.
