Will Subwoofer damage power convertible top?

I would like to upgrade the bass range on my 05 CLK cab. The only concern I have is that the extra vibrations from a sub could damage some of the switches/electronics in the roof. I don't want anything big, probably just a quality 8". Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Dude relax and install the 8 inch sub of your dreams. I've done it no worries.

Thank you. The only reason I was concerned is because back when I bought the car, I asked an MB mechanic if there were any common issues with the tops. He said that usually it was microswitches and electronic connections that would go bad.

If you could damage a top with music mine would have had its last move years ago.

Very loud music can surely damage your top (I meant head).

Doesn't seem to be fatal, though

Actually addictive. Especially if you have Focal speakers.
