Can only use MB V60? Wrong !
Randy
I registered on your site a couple months ago and sent you an mail today regarding on Motorola v710 (Verizon CDMA model).
Please let me know what parts will be needed for my 02 W203 with timeport equipped.
Thank you!
My further development will go in this order:
1. Timeport PSE
2. StarTac PSE
3. Nokia PSE
4. SonyEricsson Phones
5. Nextel Phones
I am willing to beta-test the MIKBOX for you, but I need to know what phone you would like to use it with. I would assume the non-MB Timeport phone.
I am looking into purchasing a Timeport P8767 CDMA right now.
Please let me know. Dan email dan-shelly@shaw.ca

It is important to note that my car did NOT have the phone kit. I bought the parts on eBay (cheap) for a Timeport kit and the Voice module. This plus the MikBox makes a very flexible and inexpensive solution. Because I had to install the full kit, the install was a bit more complicated but still pretty easy. You can download the instructions from Paul's site at:
http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit..._bulletins.htm
If you already have the phone kit you just need to find the PSE, reference the bulletin and it is a piece of cake.
I am using a V60 PSE currently - Mik sent me the V60 PSE in exchange for the Timeport PSE. He is using my Timeport PSE for development. We'll swap back later. Right now he only is supporting Motorola phones and the V60 PSE. He will be adding most other major phones (Nokia, Siemens, etc) and the other PSE versions. Mik has been great to deal with, especially considering that this is something he is doing on the side, he has a "real" job.
I sent Mik some details on my install and pictures which he posted on his website:
http://www.mikbox.com/install/W463/index.htm
I'll have posted some pics here also.
Basically the entire system on the G is under the passenger seat. This is probably a bit more difficult than some cars since the seat needed to come out. On the plus side everything is right there. I hooked the MikBox up on the end of the Y harness that goes to the amp. It was pretty simple. I had to improvise a bit, but it works well and is nice and snug fit. I ended up removing the screws from the Mikbox and using those to screw on the AMP end. For the other end I used a wire tie. I had to remove a few parts from the Y cable for a good tight connection - see pics. With the seat back in the MikBox is still accesible and protected by the seat support structure. It can really only be seen with the seat all the way back.
It worked immedietly and all the functionality include voice recognition works as intended. The COMAND display and cluster display work and the phone charges. Not that everything is perfect, I have noticed a few bugs. Mik is already working on the resolution. Updates can be done remotely via a phone call to Mik's server!
I think some might be related to the V600 itself. I spoke with Motorola today about some reception problems and other quirks (issues I had long before the yesterday) and they are sending me a new phone. Apparently Motorola has had a lot of problems w/ the V600. The bad side - the updated V600 won't be shipped until September! I'll have a V400 loaner until then. I'll report back on the V400's integration with the MikBox also. This is why I was attracted to the MikBox over a $800 UHI from Europe which is only good for one phone. I'm hard on phones and change phones probably every 12-18 months (mostly due to breakage) so the MikBox sounded like a perfect solution for me.
Overall I'm very satisfied. There are a few bugs, but I have complete confidence they will be worked out.
I'll post more photos in a reply -

I noticed that there cable that connects to your phone just dangles to the side and down to the bottom of the seat. Is this just temporary? Can you install a cradle for the V600 in the armrest and have the cable go into the armrest so that you don't have a cable hanging out?
Would a Motorola T720 work with the Mik-Box in your car (since the cable connecting to T720 and V600 are the same)?

I mentioned this in the post, I like the phone out in the open. I may change it up by hiding the cable or actually trying out the cradle at some point.
Do you have a guestimated time on when the Startac PSE conversion will be available?

I had it activated on an existing account. We swapped our old Nokia analog for the Timeport. No problems, the switch was done it about 5 minutes.
