Quote: Ah, now I get it.
Any idea how harmful this break-accel method is for the car?

I would imagine rear tire and rear brake wear. I don't do this often so I'm not worried about the wear.

My guess is that it's much more harmful to transmission. Better not do it)

Already posted this in the Intake thread... Figured I might post it here too in case someone isn't subscribed to it.

Audio clip of the tune (at the stock ~60%) and intake:

I also closed the hood at the end so you can hear how it will usually sound in person... Its something I was curious of that Terry's video didn't showcase.

And this is stock 0-60:

Will take a new one shortly to see if the mods improved anything... Haven't had a chance to drive it yet!

I just installed the intake as well. Very easy. Just make sure that the engine is fully warmed up when putting the intake in. I made the mistake of trying to install it on a cold engine and the metal intake tube wouldn't fit in the plastic duct!! Once warmed up, I was able to fit it in with a little wiggling. Intake sounds great, you can hear the turbo and diverter valve recirculating, making that "woosh" noise.

Some more feedback, my fuel economy on the highway has SIGNIFICANTLY improved after installing the intake and tune. I am at about the 75%-80% notch on the tune and love it!

This was my drive from my house to my workplace, and I did hit a little bit of traffic in the interim; here's to hoping I can get this even higher! Who needs a prius?!?!

I also ordered the intake and I've been driving at 65-75% since the day I installed. I was wondering though, how do you feel about the power increase? I know you can't compare the JB+ without the intake but from your perspective, do you think it makes the car much more aggressive?

Also for the MPG in the picture, were you in cruise control the whole time?

At stock settings, to be honest, not so much. I do however notice a SIGNIFICANT difference in the sound of the turbo and when shifting (not sure if this is due to intake or turbo). However, after increasing to about the 75%-80% level for the JB+, I notice a pretty big difference in power and even more of a sound difference. The car sounds more aggressive at lower RPM's and is "quicker" and snappier. But not much is different on WOT (as the tune said it wouldn't be). So if you have a heavy foot (between WOT and no acceleration) this tune is great. Less pedal movement now gets you going at the speed you desire, the car no longer feels sluggish.

Additionally, when in "E" mode with the intake and tune, it feels more like "S" mode, with less lag and more power. The "S" mode now feels like a proper s mode, more sportier, and the tranny doesn't downshift as fast when letting go of the accelerator and holds gear and revs. To me, this is how the car should have came from the factory. Not to mention, it now sounds like a mini-evo, hahah.

And on the subject of the cars in the garage. I only got to drive one of the Ferrari race cars once on the track. I ususally get to drive the "crappy" cars at the garage - which consist of a Z06, a new style Camaro ZR1 (was actually the first one ever made that we sent to Hennessey to have done - you can find vids on YouTube by them), and the Ford Raptor. So I'm allowed to take these out occassionally to Captree Sunday meets, but I haven't found the time lately, and as slow as my car is, I enjoy it!

Alright well I installed the intake today. That pipe did not want to go in the tubing at all, I wrestled it in there for 10 minutes. My first impression is that the throttle response is much nicer now. As compared to having just the JB+ with no intake, yes this thing makes a difference. The sound is also nicer, though I don't know if I want to attract attention to my car but I do like the slight "whoosh" sound you get when you let off the throttle.

I also put the JB up to 85% and I must say, now were cooking with gas! IDK how bad it is for the engine but I gotta say it makes that initial stab at the go pedal much much more rewarding. All in all I would certainly recommend these mods to anyone with a C250, it's really a no-brainer.

If the Engine cant take a slight bump in HP saftley, than this would be the weakeast engine Ive seen in a long time. Like I said this engine should be able to handle a bump of 40 whp and 40 lbs of torque. Just need to find a way to find that HP. Ushally a downpipe and a tune well get you that on other turboed cars.

what damage can turning the tune up to 75-85% do? my car is having major problems right now, i think its a lemon, so I'm going to wait till everything is sorted out to install the tune

Potentially destroy the engine, but that can happen on the stock tune as well. Likely outcome not a damm thing maybe a code thrown. I wouldnt worry about it, you should be able to drive it without worry.

Just Ordered mine 10 minutes ago. Anxious to see what she will feel like, I am satisfied with the current power but a little bump cant hurt for only 279 bucks.

Hmmmm, let me see here??????? Your screwing with AFR's, enough said ! Several other makes Turbo 4s in the past have deted from lean fuel ratios on the stock tunes, det is the enemy of these engines.

Im 99% sure they could not tell. Your not modifying the ECU its a piggyback unit much harder to detect the use of a piggyback!

About a million HP to the wheels. On a serious note I think terry said about 7 to 10. He has a dyno over on N54tech
