does anybody know where I can get smoked corner blinkers for my C280 bnez. I saw someone else mentioend it, but I can't find that person no more. Please, tell me where to get it.

There's a set on Ebay right now...i think they're asking about $55...or you can get a set from Nopi...they're made by InPro...however, i have a friend who has a set and he says it didn't fit very well on his headlights...

Thanks SLK BOY. I was able to find the smoked mirrors in Nopi.com But I was not successfull finding it in ebay. This might sound stupid, but where in ebay was it listed in? I mean everytime I try to look for mercedes parts, I can't find 'em. Thanks for your help.

Oh by the way do you have blinker mirrors on your C class (W202). I got it on mine. It is slik.

I just ordered a set of blinking mirrors from MBenz (i told myself i wasn't going to give in, but he convinced me..hehe)...they're also autodimming (i also ordered an autodimming rear view mirror to match). I was going to try and get autofolding, but it's ok...hehe.

I go to www.ebaymotors.com and search for W202, C280, etc...type the correct keyword, and it should show up..if i see if again, i'll send you the link.

All this talk of blinking mirrors and side mount indicators has brought me to this question;

Since I have a '96 C220 w/o factory side mount indicators, is it possible to install such an iteam and have it look factory? Anybody done this sort of task? How difficult an upgrade is it?

It's not that hard (esp since all the riceboys have them)...it involves cutting your fender and getting some sidemakers..or if you want to go OEM, buy some euro fenders...cost-wise, it's probably easier to do it yourself and cut the fender...

but then, you can also get blinking mirrors..

I agree on the quick route. I don't see much of a difference in the Euro va NA fender other than that. I would about the wiring diagram, light gasket for fender, etc. Is there a kit anybody is aware of?

Actually, I think I found some on nopionline.com. Can't tell if it's just the lense or a kit. I'll have to call and ask if nobody here knows.

Most of the side markers that places sell are just the housings with a bulb...you'll have to wire it yourself (not too hard..just tap the corner lenses)...

Yeah, I don't think wiring is a big deal. But I want to make the install look right. Can you think of a good kit.. or could I perhaps order OEM parts for a later model, etc, any thoughts along that line? I appreciate all your timely input it's proving very helpful thus far.

I'm pretty sure there aren't any "kits" available, but you can probably buy OEM side markers that came on the earlier SLKs, CLKs, or MLs (all the newer ones after the styling update use blinking mirrors). As for wiring, just use ordinary wires to tap the blinkers, and run them under the fender if possible (so it's not hanging around the engine bay). If you have to run it through the engine bay, use those plastic wire wraps, and it will look pretty stock.

But, like i said earlier, i'd rather go the blinking mirror route (which is what i'm doing right now...hehe).. much cleaner look IMO...and it doesn't involve cutting the fenders...

I guess I'll call the Stealership and see if I can't get some OEM lights or atleast ask about them.

My only troubles(s) with the blinking mirrors is this a) it's more costly and b) I haven't yet seen a '96 C-class in any sort of photographs to make an informed decision about how it looks before dropping coins on it. Then I worry about matching the paint and if for some reason my paint is faded a bit how off it would look.

See if there are junkyards that have the side markers..they should have a few...check out Potomac or Silver Star Recycling.

After looking at the picture, you might be on to something. They don't look half bad at all. I take it those are taken from the E-class? If I can find a pair used to match my paint scheme, I think I'll give those a go.

Yup..they're taken fromt he E-class..you can actually fit W203's on as well, but they're a little too "round" for the W202's body...a bunch of the people on benzsport have gotten their mirrors from MBenz, so when you get a response from him about the headlight wipers, ask him about the mirrors. They're about $350 from what I remember...if your car is a common color (like black, etc), it might be possible to get them in the same color...for my car, they never made e's in Smoke Silver (at least none in the models that had those mirrors).
