Well, you'll need a pedal assembly too. I don't think you'll be able to shift without a clutch pedal
Then I think you might also need a new ECU since the current one is going to keep looking for the automatic transmission. I'm not sure if there's a way to reprogram it. But then if you just took the ECU out of the transmission donor car, it probably wouldn't play well with your engine. I think most issues are going to be with the computer.

Around $450 with no tune. I'll start building power after I get a better clutch. The setup has worked perfectly for 3 months now.

This isn't going to end well.

Between the ASR and the rest of the computer it's going to be well past what the average guy can DIY- or at least without straight up butchery.

It is a little complicated but it can be dun. If MB ever made a manual 202 the parts are avalibal. And as for coding it's almost all options. Under trans slect manual (with a star tester). A slk has a vary similar chassy. I bet every part and wire you need would transfer over. With my conversion I used a parts car (01 C240). Every thing transfers over flawlessly. And it was only about 4 days work.

Where not the average guy :P

So the 6-speed you have is the one ending in part# 59 01? ...The rare one fitted to the V6 engines?...theres plenty of the other inline engine variant.

Im keen to do a 5.4 with it and just uprate the pressure plate(even though its rated for much less torque),my 5 speed manual in the 202 handled the near 400hp for ages and still runs smooth. would need to do minor surgery for the gearshifter in the 6-speed though.

Do you have any pics of the gearbox before it went in?(or any other parts of the system?)

Can you change gearbox selection from the star diagnostics???(surely its not that simple?)^^
what happened to your cruise control?.

Sorry I can't post pics. I don't have a computer at home. I only have an iPhone. But the trans shifts from the top thrue one rod.
All I had to do with my 209 is tel the EIS (the ignition swick) that it had a manual trans and the rest of the control units fell in line. But I had to send the engine control unit off because it is flashable. I could vue the coding but couldn't change it. On a 202 you may be able to change it with only a tester.
The cruise control works grate.

So what did all this cost after it was said and done? Also- do you have any idiot lights / CEL on?

The price of the c240 was $7,200. Shift boot was $200. The ECM was $400. I'm about to buy a $1100 stage 5 clutch. There are no lights on and no codes. I'm still working on the c240. I need the base adaptation to dump into the new trans control unit. That car is coating me a bit of coin. So talking cash about $10,000. But I gat to shift gears and a nice work car out of it.

Apples and oranges

The C36 biggest issue is that stateside we never got sticks.
You will need to find a European used pedal assmbly. The rest is not all that involved.Just rebuild the c36 auto and call it good. 5 speed conversion could cost more than the old girl is worth.

I think the 5 speed conversion was already done in the UK. I remember a member on club202 was able to fit a c280 5 speed to the C36. I'm pretty sure that the same cannot be done on a C43 though...

There's never been a manual transmission AMG in recent years.
